My computer has started having boot issues in the last few weeks. Whenever I want to start it, I have to cycle the power switch on the PSU and then press the front power button. The front button is non-responsive otherwise. The behavior is the same if I try to suspend - it doesn't recover.
The PC used to do this maybe once out of every 10 suspends, but now it happens 100% of the time. When XP boots, it automatically pops up an explorer window of a certain directory, as if I'd left that window open and had the "Restore windows on startup" option checked, which I believe I do. That seems to suggest that the computer isn't even shutting down properly.
My first thought is that I have a bad power supply, but I'd appreciate any other thoughts or suggestions before I go replacing it. Thanks.
