I know but if you read one of my links it shows that the OCZ is almost efficient as the Seasonic. If Intel want BTX they can push BTX, thats what happens when you have the funds that they do.

thats the point tho i dont think intel has to push btx anymore. changed all the roadmaps and the pentium m doesnt have the problems p4 has so why waste money to push something your cpus dont dependent on? i dont know for sure im just saying i think its dead. when they pushed for atx it all went pretty fast not this time 2004 was said to be the year or pci-e ddr2 and btx. i see pci-e i see ddr2 i do not see btx.

ya the ocz has a good efficiency but not like the seasonic. think ocz has >60% and seasonic 75%-80%. i read that on the ocz and arctic cooling site i think. also note the efficiency drops if the load is too few % of the max load.

btw ive read that p4 570j article and it lists the winchester 3500+ set up at 114W total system power use and the 3.8ghz 570j at 226w total system power use- i really dont know how many hdds you wanna throw in a home computer or how much you wanna oc the crap out of it but you would definitely have a hard time to hit more than 400w i think. looking at those numbers and trusting anandtech.com i think its safe to say that a quality 350w psu is able to supply enough power for a high end home rig.

ty i didnt know that i was looking at the 520 cuz thats what i got. i think that 99-9% of all users would not get the 600w anywhere near max load.

Also consider that when it comes to overclocking its more about the quality of the power, more so then normal. The problem is the closer you to hitting the limits of a PSU the output becomes less and less clean. Better units exhibit this less but its a universal factor.

In a overclocked system everything is much more susceptible to instability. Even though you may not be using all the PSU's output your likely to get cleaner power from a 500 watt unit running at 50% load then a 350 watt unit running at 80%. That?s assuming both units are otherwise equal.

I have to differwith you all about the OCZ on efficiency...at least the 470w...seee table below

http://www.silentpcreview.com/article173-page4.html

these numbers if you compare them to his seasonic review are almost the same

max load 470W OCZ was 78%
midrange 150-250w...76%-80%

here is Seasonic super silent 400w psu..this is an error..???
http://www.silentpcreview.com/article97-page4.html

here is for seasonic 400w super silencer..this hits 83% after a revision
