With lots of power hungry CPU's and GPU's which PSU is best for OCing? asking for your valued opinions. if possible, please include your experiences (i.e. what kind of system you run it on and if any OC's). The "value" issue is important but not a necessity. Thanks!!!

I always run Pcpower and cooling supply's here. I have never had a problem with 1 to date yet.
They are Expensive, and a bit on the loud side for the High Performance 1's, but to me, well worth it in the long run.
I am working on year 3 on my Dual Power 420watt, which is a redundant setup, with No issues.
Presently running a 3.2E at 4032,(@1.5v), with a 6800 GT with an Ultra bios on it, 2 scsi drives, 1 of which is 15k, 3 optical drives, including a Plextor sata Dvd,Sound card, aha 29160 scsi controller and a gig of pc4000 mushkin ram. My volts are ;
+12v 12.42
+3.3v 3.36
+5v 5.12
The variance of voltages is Slight at best, they vary only a tad, and this is with running just 1 420watt supply at a time too.
So, Yes I HIGHLY recommend PcPower and cooling.

Fortron 550w.

I used it for my dual xeon setup and built a computer with it for my friend.

This thing is well worth price.($93)

I'm also a PCP&C user. They work great but sound like a diesel engine. There is nothing quiet about them

OZC I can not tell you how smooth this beast runs under stress. I just put mine in last week I mean this thing is a Rock. I hooked my data logger and laptop to it for almost 3 hours recording voltage and inline amps on the video card. during 3d benchmarks my stock unit voltage would drop from 11.893 to 11.261. OCZ I had adjust the rails a bit but are right on the money 12.012 VDC with almost no drop under testing 11.921 VDC the 5v rail I have not tested yet but is dialed right in at 5.060 vdc.

I would go with a Fortron 530, as it is standard ATX as opposed to the 24pin connector. however, i agree with render that a Fortron is what you want.

Another vote for PC Power and Cooling. They are expensive but worth it. Turbo Cool 510 Deluxe  The OCZ PSU are very good alternative.

how loud is the PCP&P turbocool 510? what about their silent PSUs are they any good? or should i go for the OCZ? also i hope it's not a dumb question: what's better? a dual rail 12v or a high amp 12v i.e. i see some dual rail like 12a and 18a at 12v vs 28a at 12v. which is better?

antec trueblue 480... or neopower...maybe even the 550 from antec as well.

thermaltake xaser 3 is pretty good too. my friend got a stock 2.8C to 3.5 using it.

i use a 450Watt SuperFlower PSU, cost me $55 over the summer. the voltages never move aside from the 12v which only moves about .15 max. An excellent 27A 12V rail for under $60 is hard to beat. it uses a silent 140mm fan that operates at about 22dB on low speed mode.

Powers a Barton@2.6ghz, a 6800 Ultra Extreme edition(465x1325)+Geforece2mx, 4 hard drives, optical, TV tuner, etc etc etc. Love it.

Im using ultra x connect 500watt... completely stable and oc'ing mine fine.. 3200 90nm at 2.55 1:1 memory prime stable... can probably push farther havent yet tho... ocz gets just as many good reviews as the x connect so either one in my opinion.

Well with an OCZ PSU Team Akiba set a world record for a 6ghz P4. They were not able to do it with the other ones they tested

My vote goes for OCZ Powerstream (The record was with the 520 now they just released a 600Watt ).

how come no one mentioned the fact that the 600watt OCZ blew up a few dozen computers recently, taking all the attatched hardware with it?

they say OCZ is for hardcore overclockers with big budget, and antec, forton are good makers too

but seriously, unless u r going to do a 50% OC or so, most name brands will do, I find enermax nice and cheap

You forgot enermax! Or did you?

I've been overclocking for years using enermax PSU's and haven't had a single PSU-related issue. They're whisper-quiet too.

That doesn't do anything to make me feel more confident about buying their PSUs. I think OCZ is pretty new to the PSU business. I don't trust them yet, especially with these kinds of reports coming out.
