PSU Help

Will a 2 year old Thermaltake Silent Purepower 480W PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153007) be enough for this configuration?
Conroe E6300
Asus P5b
X1900XT 512mb
X-fi Xtreme Music
2 60mm fans
2 optical Drives
7200RPM IDE HDD
2GB (2x1gb) DDR2 800 RAM

dont plan on overclocking till the future, by then i will probably get an enermax 500w liberty.

The 480 is enough wattage wise. Most systems don't use over 250 watts idle tops. However, that PSU only has a single 12V rail rated at 18A. Most PSUs these days have dual 12v rails totaling 30 Amps. The problem you may run into is the CPU and GPU running load at the same time and the psu not being able to cope. I'd suggest the new PSU just because you need to get it sooner or later.

Most don't use that at full load, but otherwise good post.

Thermaltake PSUs spell trouble. THey suck. End of story. Wattage-wise, you're fine.

OEM matters... I don't really trust thermaltake. Some are good and others are crap.. It's kind of a crapshoot with them to who makes it. kinda like rosewill I believe. Get a fortron...

Should be plenty. The liberty is the PSU that I will be picking up for my Conroe build, just haven't decided on 400 or 500W, but I will likely pony up the extra $30. Good Luck!
