Ok this problems got me stumpt. Lemme spell it out for you all and see if any one's got a solution up your sleeve.
The problem: Computer works fine in windows , go to play guild wars after about 15 min the whole computer reboots. As i start playing guild wars the PSU of my computer starts making a clicking sound. Like a base bal caard in a spoke.
My Rig:
Epox 8KRA2+ with AMD XP2600
1 gig of ram
ATI 9800 pro
DVD drive
CDRW drive
Aditional points of interest:
ON boot up the computer used to say XP2600+ now it just says KT600 DDR
Voltages:
Vcore =1.66
Vagp = 1.47
+ 5 = 4.83
+12 = 12.5
Vio = 3.24
Vdimm = 2.51
Vbat =3.12
5VSB = 4.89
I have been smelling a melting smell occasionally.
I have been having some video card probems as well recently, the card was over heating. Blew a fan across it and solved the overheat problem. I'm wondering if the card isn't getting enough power and is having problems functioning or what. The specs on my PSU are as follows:
+3.3 = 25A
+5 = 38A
+12 = 17A
-12 = 0.8A
-5 = 0.5A
5VSB = 2A
it is an Apower 500W
From what i've read here and there i think my +12 is wimpy for the rig i got and is starving the system for power
Thanks for any input
