I am putting together a new system and wonder if someone could advise on a few things.

System specs:

Shuttle AN35N 400
XP2800+
512 (2x256) TwinMos
9700 Pro
350w generic PSU (came with case)

Is this PSU enough? Also, what HSF should I go with (will not be overclocked)

Thanks!

"350w generic PSU (came with case)" Generic PSU's aren't good for anything, take it out and replace with a name brand unit. As for heatsinks thisThermalright is one of the best, use this Panaflow if your not going to be overclocking.

*edit*

Scratch that, the thermalright is overkill go with somthing like this if you'd like to save some cash.

What about Q-Tec PSU's? http://www.qtec.info/products/product.htm?artnr=13025

Seasonic is very high quality:
300W:

350W:

400W:

I will be getting one for my next computer in a few months (probably the 400W since I hope to have an A64 and 6800GT and 2X WD Raptor HDD)

EDIT:
My current computer is XP1800+ and 9700pro
I had an Aopen 300W supply that worked, but started getting boot problems and went to an Antec 350W. Unfortunately, the problems were due to my IBM HDD and the new powersupply didn't help anything. Therefore, I think you'd be fine with a 300W supply and could probably get the 350W and have quite a bit of headroom for upgrades.

My CPU heatsink is a Zalman 7000a-AlCu. I really like it - very quiet and cools about 5C above case temp @ idle. I will be using the Zalman on my next computer.

-D'oh!

Can't say that I?ve heard of them before. It has the appearance of a good PSU but I don't see any detailed specifications. If you can find out who manufactured it then you'd have something to go by, until then I'd recommend getting something with a established reputation. The Seasonic's mentioned above are great I'd put those at the top of my list. Other good names; Forton Source, Tagan, Antec, Zalman to name a few.

Gamerguy, Seasonics are damned good psu's that come with a 3yr warranty but looking at your specs which isn't high end at all, you don't need to spend $70 for a 350W seasonic. You should be able to get by with a decent 300-350W Fortron.
