PSU

Sound isn't much of an issue since I wear headphones but I would like to get a PSU that runs cooler and rock steady. I've been looking at thermaltakes and pc power and cooling. The Thermaltakes are my pick so far but I don't know how cool they run. the pc power and cooling ones look great, are solid as a rock and have sleeved wires but they're horribly expensive, not to mention I don't know how cool they are. Thanks again.

The PC Power and Cooling PSUs are very solid, very expensive, and you can easily cook with the exhaust.

most psu's are fairly quiet anyways so ur not gonna be gettin a loud one, jus go with a Antec, enermax, globalwin make of psu and u'll be fine

So PCP&C are no good? Do you mean cook with the exhaust or cook inside your case? And what about the Thermaltakes? I'm still fond of them for the full sleeving job you get.

The PCP&C supplies just run warm. They don't have any problems, they're built to a higher standard than most others that I've run across.

They're just warmer. The case doesn't seem any warmer, but I have a very large case.

Ever used a Thermaltake, especially the fanless? And come to think of it, are there any case fans that cool good (over 30-40 CFM) and keep quiet? Thanks for the answers so far.

I like my allied 500 watt w/ 80mm and 92 mm fans! It dropped my case temp 6 degrees C from my last PSU and provided GREAT voltages

I let you know what I think about thermaltake PSU's, if my replacement doesn't die after 2 days. I'll be getting it back from newegg in a couple days. Had to RMA the first one(420w purepower) cause it died for no aparent reason after only 2 days..

the newer antec truepowers are not good, they do not perform to what they're rated for. i think antec is doing one of those "get a reputation, then jack the market for money while its still good" deals. dunno, ive personally had bad experiences witht he newer ones while i have 2 older 300/350 antec's that are fantastic.

i would recomend it or Seasonic to anyone looking for a newer PSU. If you do the research on PSU's, you'll see seasonic and fortron source (as well as fortrons other brand names that use their components) come out on top. they're also very decently priced. i like mine because it has a 12cm fan in it that's adjustable, works great.
