Not sure if anyone else is watching but the new Uncharted game looks really good. It was one of those trailers you didn't know what it was until the very end of the trailer.

The Last of Us Part 2 just got revealed too. That game is going to look incredible.

Didn't even know this existed. I thought A Thief's End would be the final release in that Uncharted franchise, but I guess not. Neither that nor The Last of Us 2 would interest me, so I'll be fishing through the Internet news at what else was announced.

Looking it over, I'm not impressed. The game I most want to hear more about is Detroit: Become Human, and it looks to be absent. Nice of them to make both The Last of Us 2 AND Uncharted be led by female characters, because we haven't had enough of that forced down our throats lately (seriously, when was the last time we got a new IP with a white male at the front and nothing else?). But, again, I care about neither of those.

I still can't help but hate them for putting Griffey on The Show when Kris Bryant 100% should be there after following up Rookie of the Year with an MVP award and helping the Cubs win the World Series. I mean, that's something you can't make up for in the future, missing the boat for the Cubs' ending the WS drought. If he's the cover guy next year, cool, but not the same.

The article I found didn't have the trailer for Horizon in it, so I couldn't check in on that, but with no mention of Detroit this remains the only thing other than baseball to grab my interest from Sony in 2016 (given it looks like Detroit's nowhere close). Well, the Kingdom Hearts stuff is also there, but those are all remasters, so not quite the same.

Nioh looks like they took The Witcher and threw it into the bowels of hell or something. Kind of a Witcher-Devil May Cry mashup feel. Gran Turismo might interest me if there isn't a Forza Motorsport, but since I have an Xbox, it's just hard to care about the second-best racing franchise on console (given there are two ways to enjoy the Forza franchise now).

Lot of disappointment and generally uninteresting stuff there, for me.

Still, 2017 is looking like an amazing year for PS4 with Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2 and probably Uncharted Lost Legacy. I imagine we won't see TLOU 2 until Christmas 2018 at the earliest though.

Yeah I'd be shocked if TLOU2 is a 2017 game. He made it like overly clear that the game is in really early development.

I saw the last of us 2 earlier today. I cannot wait for that game. The Last of Us is by far my favorite game ever. Naughty Dog is my favorite game dev. And the new Uncharted looks great. Best news in gaming I've heard in awhile for sure. Gonna be a wait but it will be worth it.

There was nothing at the end of the first game, and NOTHING in this trailer that indicated that Joel and Ellie have a failing relationship. The best fan theory I have read so far is that the Fireflies end up killing Joel and Ellie is on a mission to hunt them down and kill them, and that Joel in the trailer is just a figment of her imagination.

As for the Uncharted stand alone DLC. I am not nearly as fascinated with Nadine as everyone else seems to be. Chloe on the other hand, is along with Cutter my favorite non-Nate character in Uncharted. If Cutter isn't in this DLC, I will be pissed. Since this takes place after Uncharted 4, I don't see why Chloe would work with Nadine. I'm sure they both know of each other's relationships with Nathan.

I said after I finished Uncharted 4 and people were talking about another studio possibly continuing the Uncharted Series without Nathan and Elana, that I would LOVE to see a game series dedicated to Cutter and Chloe.

I am not sure God of War or Days Gone will be 2017 games either. Sony usually seems to announce their games around 2 years ahead of release.

What I am surprised hasn't been announced yet, is Sucker Punch's next game. It's been over 2 and a half years since their last full game came out

People always jump to wild speculation with reveal trailers. I think you are right about the 2017 releases. They will likely take more time.

Which is totally understandable. I don't think the game play and the engine will be a problem, it will be getting the right tone and feeling from the voice actors and creating the story for the game to live up to the first title.

I'm we excited for the last of us part 2. I'm actually replaying the first one on the pro now but I can't tell if it's native 4k or not.

As for uncharted, the dlc will be interesting. At the end of uncharted 4 I felt like they kind of left it open for another one. I also don't get why Nadine is in the dlc. I felt as if she wasn't such a big character in 4. Cutter is hilarious and it would be cool to see him back.

Thanks I didn't know I had to go into options and do that. HDR was on since the beginning but I just now switched it to 30 fps. I think I see some difference.

Sold my PS4 on the weekend, not using it that much. These games look pretty good though. Will probably pick up a Pro late next year when it's under $300 and I hopefully have a 4k OLED. Wish they'd upgrade Bloodborne tho...

Not really, you don't have to adjust detail sliders and guess at what works for your system. You just pick whether you want 60fps or 30fps with a little better detail.

We knew way ahead of time that they would have to devote more man hours for supporting the pro. I have seen some developers say that they are excited to be able to show their game off in a different way with the pro.

Also it is not really useless for people with a 1080p display. Some games that render above 1080p are down sampled so you get a better looking game anyway. Plus some games have 60fps modes that won't open up unless you have a pro.

I do think it would have been better to wait a couple more years then make a backward compatible ps5 with a larger performance jump. This is how things will be for the foreseeable future though, even the Scorpio from MS will basically be in the same boat as the pro. Since there can be no exclusive games for the newer console the devs will always have multiple performance targets.

So 1080p console mode makes no difference visually either way. Odd they didn't do 2800p down sampled. Why even offer a 30fps mode at all for them?
