No, I am a proud American atheist. Emphasis on American. I understand that the 1st Amendment protects us from a government decreed religion, not prevents religion from appearing anywhere a government dollar is spent.
You may be proud, and you may be American, but I take issue with your claim of understanding anything here. Definitely need to steer some of that proud emphasis towards reading and writing skills, that much is certain. You have to be the first atheist I've ever seen who thinks
irregardless is a word, as well as one that seems to be unaware of the difference between "appearing" and "promoting." Naw, you're not trying dismiss anything here, couldn't be!
The American flag
appears at that school. The evangelicals at the heart of this story happen to be
promoting their dogma however. It adorns the walls, pervades the curriculum, and guides the faculty to hold science, history and the separation of church and state in abject contempt. Other faiths are
persona non grata according to the story, subject to ridicule and outright exclusion. Yeah, sounds quite American doesn't it?
Freedom of religion, so long as it's the right religion. A notion quite popular in the Bible Belt, and one of the major reasons I left that shitty area as soon as I could.
