Except Gibson was hobbled on 2 bad legs and could barely take 3 steps without falling down. I think that was a greater feat, not taking anything away from Pujols. I REALLY hope the Cards pull this off now. I couldn't stand seeing Grandma Bush and Dubya's daddy in the backround, pretending they're real fans. Seeing all the fans in disbelief was priceless.

You first. The Cards have won a WS before and went last year. The Astros have yet to make it.

We'll have to see how Houston handles this crushing blow. They can either fold or overcome it. It's good for them that they have Oswalt and Clemens the next 2 games.

Edit: On a different note, the sudden change from deafening noise to absolute quiet reminded me of Ronde Barber's interception against the Eagles as they were getting close to a touchdown to take the lead in the NFC championship.

As a resident of Houston and a huge fan of the Astros, I'm still not sold on the Rockets. Being originally from Utah and a huge Jazz fan, however, I can say the silence reminded me of John Stockton's Game 6 three pointer at the end of the 1997 Western Conference championship against (who else but) Houston.

I was in the sports bar at Ameristar Casino St. Charles (outside St. Louis) and when he hit that thing, it was pure chaos. Every single person in that large restaurant (>300 peeps) was jumping up and down like CRAZY. Will never forget that moment.
