Will this memory work okay with my MSI K7T Pro2a Motherboard (Duron 700@850)? Or would I be better better off going with something else?

I am sure that it is CL3. All the HD chips are. You might bet them to run at CL2 at 100 MHZ though If you dont want the 133 ability ( I have no idea why you would do that though )

yes, this RAM will work. I thought I heard somewhere that this memory is VCRAM, Virtual Channel. It's designed to only work with VIA Chipsets. Anand has some reviewage. Search the articles.

Can anyone tell me if this memory works fine with a Abit KA7 (slot A AMD)? I just picked up one and was wondering about 1 GB of memory...

Thanks!

Double Arrggh! How could it possibly get cheaper. Do you think Compusa will start giving them away with hard drives?

Finally bit the bullet and decided to order. Tried 5 times and each time I get a message saying the adress I submitted does not match the one on my cardholder's account (I have placed 5 orders from other online companies this month with the same card and address!) Tried calling about 15 times, and each time I get a message saying that "all operators are busy.." Arrgghhh. Beginning to think this is a sign for me to leave this deal alone.

Anyone else have this problem?

<< I think MigrateZone might be affiliated with UpgradeZone, which is also here in nothern Virgina >>

Both companies seem to have the same zip code in Arlington, but, at least according to the whois, the parent companies have different names and street addresses. I ordered 3 sticks of high density memory from Upgrade planet before and although it came rather underpackaged (in an envelop, as I recall) it worked as advertised and is now happily plugging away in three different Duron machines (an Asus A7V, a Biostar M7VKL & a MSI K7T Pro2A).

Anyway, I ordered 2 sticks of 256 MB high density from MigrateZone for $22 each plus $10.99 S&H. The total came to $54.99, 10.74 cents a MB. The first time I tried to order I didn't get a "You have succeeded in ordering" message and never got a confirmation email, so I tried again the next day and did receive a confirmation. I hope I don't end up with four sticks, though I'm sure I could palm the surplus off on my buddy with the K7T.

I'm still confused.

I have a 1000MHz Athlon Socket A on a ABIT KT7 with a 256MB stick of Micron PC133 RAM.

Will this memory work on my system? I'd defintely pull out the old stick, if it was incompatible.

Please help.
Thanks!

pochacco20,

I have a duron 1 gig socket A on a MSI turbo board and I bought this memory and expect it to work based on reviewing the posts that have been made repeatedly on this subject and the links they give to authoritative pages on memory.

Try the search tool; you'll like it!

Excuse me for being irrated at you. What IAM REALLY PI$$ED ABOUT is that flashing tar baby "You have a message" ad that if you touch by accident you have to exit Explorer and re open and find where you were before. I wish Anandtech would DUMP that advertisement!!

hmm, will this RAM work with Abit KT7A mobo?
and lastly, can I mix this ram with a PNY PC133 128mb stick (infineon chips) that I already have on the board? (similar question was asked 3 posts or something ago... just need some clarification )

Thanks!

I wouldn't trust this RAM to mix with other brands. If anything, replace your current Memory with this stuff. At this price, you can take your Brand name stuff and eghey it or hold on to it.

Hah! This memory is bigger than a couple old Hd's I have laying around. The only problem is I tried high density memory (from Memman)on two VIA chipsets (Abit KT7 Raid and an FIC AZ11) and neither would boot. For those that get this to work, terrific. After my episode, I've become a firm believer in paying a little more for your memory. It's the old adage, you get what you pay for.

Well I couldn't resist. Bought 3 sticks to max out my Iwill KK266-R server. Looks like it will work acording to Iwill's specs. Hope so...
