<< Just curious, why the heck would anyone order generic Ram from questionable companies when you can get PC133 CL3 Crucial shipped 2nd day to your door for ~$56 and CL2 for ~$59? I know Mushkin and others are more, but Crucial has to be better than the stuff you're getting on these &quot;deals&quot; that charge you $10+ in shipping.

I don't disagree at all, but in all fairness this is more than twice as expensive. That said, I have generally found &quot;bargain&quot; RAM to be problematic at best, and the Crucial prices are sure tempting . . .

Can someone explain just how this ram is unusual?

I feel very something fishy about this company.

1.They charged your credit card right after you placed the order.
2.It takes 3-5days after order placed for them to start shipping as stated. So you don't know when the order will actually be shipped.
3.The 2 phone numbers listed by them: one is dead, another one is an answer machine,which always saying &quot;service people are busy &quot;and hangs off . I tried ten times at different timing for 2 days.
4. The actual prices on their web are higher than that on Pricewatch.com, which is not a practice for decent company.

I am cancelling my order palced almost a week ago ,as so far I don't even know the order status. If I had the patience to wait, what could I do if I need talk to real people there while you are always greeted by answer machine?

Now I wait and see if the cancellation goes smoothly.

Just purchased two 512mb sticks from Neutronnet for $44 each. Decided not to go with MigrateZone or ComputerCraft because MigrateZone wasn't listed and ComputerCraft had a low score on ResellerRatings.

I received my order from Migratezone today,2 256 meg high density modules,and a Duron 700 total cost $68.00.The Duron is an AKCA stepping witch should do close to a gig.
I installed the memory in one of my systems that had high density modules allready,just swapped them out and left all memory settings the same and they are running 149fsb cas 3.No boot at cas 2,but from my experience with high density modules(i've purchased many from different companys) they will run pretty high fsb settings as long as you don't get to aggressive with the timings.All in all a fair deal (not hot)for my hard earned cash.

I was able to get ahold of Greg in sales yesterday to cancel my order since it was not gonna work for me. Took me about 3 tries to get thru. According to him, the order hadn't even been posted in the computers yet...and that was a couple of hours later after I had put in the order. He said they definitely were not in stock.

I cancelled my original order from 6/21. They had charged my card already, but a credit has been issued. I reordered at the price of $46. I don't expect to have any RAM at my door until two weeks after ordering.

Migrate Zone is run out of a guys house. Occasionally I get emails from migratezone@home.com.

Got mine about 10 days after order..shipping was a little slow ,but what the heck.Runs like a charm in my Asus A7V mobo.Funny thing though: one time it booted up and showed the ram as VCM(virtual channel memory) Did that one time and now it shows SDRAM.no biggie,wont do cas2,but from earlier posts most hd ram wont anyways.I feel soooooo ripped off! I paid 57.00 for this stick two weeks ago and its gone lower still! My gosh, now you can get 1.5 gigs of ram for less than 150.00.Insane I tell ya!

So does anyone know for sure if this RAM will work on an Abit KT7a_RAID? The website said that it would work for KT7. Wonder if it makes a difference.

The memory type (VCM) actually runs about 10% faster than SDRam. The problem is most boards can't accept more than 256mb/slot. The Abit KT7x's SHOULD run this since:

A.)The Via chipsets usually support VCM.
B.)The max allowed amount of memory for the KT7x is 1.5gb (512mb/slot).

Problem is for OS's like Win98, running 1gb of ram can be a little buggy (how much can Windows address?).

I also ordered one of these sticks of ram. Also picked up the FIC az11 + 800 duron + fan combo for $97. I ordered on Monday. I've emailed them three times since Tuesday and Friday with no response. On Friday afternoon, I finally decided to call them. It took MANY tries to finally get though, I guess they're too cheap to allow people to be put on hold. The lady on the other end seemed very nice. I asked her when my order was going to be shipped and why I haven't gotten any response to my emails. She said that my order was still being processed which should take 3-5 days from the order day, but online orders take one day extra. She assured me it would go out on Monday, and if I don't get an email confirmation by then, I should call them and ask for the UPS tracking number. And to my second question, she said &quot;the guy&quot; who answers the email hasn't been at this desk. These answers shocked me a bit. Online orders take one day longer than phone orders? Only one guy answering emails? These seem kind of strange for an online retailer. I was afraid to ask how many people they had answering phone calls. Anyways, hopefully I will get my stuff by the end of next week. I will post whether the ram works w/ the az11 if no one posts results of that combo before I get mine. Btw, does anyone's email receipt say residential under shipping? When I ordered, there was only one check box for residential, and none for commercial. I had the residential checked. But my email receipt says commercial. I wonder if this affected my shipping rate. I tried adding the same items to the shopping cart again to calculate the shipping. It was a few bucks cheaper than mine. Strange.
