Hello Everyone,
I have 499 to spend come November time. I am a pc gamer (mainly FPS). There will be only 5 games i will be playing between this year and the next and that's it on a single 1920 by 1080 BENQ XL2420T 24-Inch Screen Monitor.

Titanfall
Call Of Duty Ghost
The Division
Watchdog
Battlefield 4

So the question i have maybe you can help me decide on. I have never done SLI configuration. I currently have EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2771-KR GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card for gfx card with 16 gig ram and i5 4670 with h100i closed loop water cooler. I don't overclock.

should i purchase another same gfx card which costs about 419 or buy xbox one since i already have one card and i will only be running it in 1920*1080 res single monitor? Why xbox one, to socialize, use kinect to control my 60 inch tv, skype and lastly for light gaming such as FIFA on rare occasions. Will i be able to play those games at max setting with my rig? or will i need another card and how much difference will i find in the game play if i bought another card?

You can surely play them but not sure about max settings as none of them are out yet.I will recommend to get Xbone as it will most likely have some exclusives.

At 1080p even one gtx 770 will max out them but real problems lies on AA.According John carmack next gen console will be limited to 30fps and will not support MSAA or SMAA.I will say if u are performance geek than buy gtx 770 sli if not than buy xbox one.

Get the Xbox One. You'll have access to some exclusives MS is baking with it's partners and i'm sure your GTX 770 will be enough @1080p.

Shocked that a couple pc gamers here are suggesting the xbox,so many anti console gamers in here to make your head spin but honestly yeah this next generation is simply impressive enough to purchase so i would go right along with them and say xbox one for sure@$500.

I don't see it as PC vs console. Looking at OP's rig he's got enough firepower to continue PC gaming for a while. Another GTX 770 seems like overkill. Might as well get a console too. Lucky bastad gonna have all sorts of options. I'm usually fiscally limited to one or the other.

If you can and like playing FPS games with a console controller then get the Xbox, otherwise you have spend it on pc gears.

I'm gonna add one more vote to buy the Xbox One. You already have a powerhouse of a card for 1080p gaming, that $400 investment in an SLI setup will give you very minimal returns for what you plan on using it for, whereas it sounds like you'll get a lot more use and enjoyment out of the Xbox for the money.

Plus as others said, there might be a few Xbox exclusive games that you'd eventually like to play and would otherwise be unable.

I care about games, not what I'm playing them on. I currently have a gaming PC with GTX 680, a PS3, and an Xbox 360.

Given a choice I'll play a game on my PC, but if it's an exclusive like Valkyria Chronicles or Crackdown then I'll play them on a console.

The only reason I haven't pre-ordered a PS4 and x1 is that I haven't seen any launch titles that I need to play right away.

MS's idea of "Exclusive" is a bit of a joke. Currently there are only two exclusives that are actual exclusives. Every other one is coming to PC, Xbox360, and in some cases even to PS4 after a bit of a delay.

I see ZERO reason to get a XBone. If I had to get a console, it certainly would not be the xbox.

A single 770 will play the games you listed better than the new consoles. Playing games at 720@30fps has never been my idea of enjoyable.

Best choice is to save your money since it doesn't sound like you really have much use for either. Next would be get a xbox one because it will depreciate slower then a gtx 770.

Have had every single Playstation and Xbox consoles because of Grandturismo and Forzamotorsport. I'm a racing gamer to the core. Call me crazy but I'm getting both consoles this Cristmas. Wife will scream a bit but she'll get over it.

comparing the Xbox 360 to the PS3 I think the PS3 had better exclusive titles, so my recommendation is PS4 + single card.

It seems everyone missed the fact he has a 120hz monitor, and while a single 770 can play at max settings with no AA on most any game these days, it won't play with high FPS on recent games, not enough to make 120hz worth much.

If you want to make use of your monitor, get a 2nd 770, if you want another gaming platform, get a console. I personally have never enjoyed playing on a console, except with friends or family.

Well, if you want to make her scream even more, pick up a racing wheel for both. =3

It's great to see that not everyone is a PC snob. Don't get me wrong, I love the PC but having 15 gabillion pixels is not the be all end all, consoles offer some great gaming experiences as well. I don't need anti aliasing out of the wazoo 24/7 for some types of games, where I can sit on the couch with a beer and enjoy some gaming on the big screen. Case in point, fighting games are just much better suited for consoles because of the massive playerbase on XBLG (as compared to the scant to non-existent competition on the PC platform). Really, when 400k players are online for a specific fighting game on XBLG versus 1000 on steamworks...yeah....

So with that being said my vote goes for....

Get a PS4 to couple with the GTX 770 PC.

I'm not even sure what you're getting at there. What's your point? Not trying to be facetious, but a serious question. Anyway, I enjoy all kinds of games on various gaming systems. There's no pre-requisite for fancy schmancy 16k textures - while all of that stuff is nice, gameplay is king. There are some games and multiplayer experiences that consoles have (Last of Us? Fighting games with actual people playing? Seriously, competition and players are non-existent on PC versions of fighting games) that PCs do not. SO I enjoy consoles and PCs. Finally, the OP stated this:

use kinect to control my 60 inch tv

And he was asking whether he should buy a GTX 770 for SLI or an XB1. The OP already has his 60" HD TV. I answered the question based on that.

I'm curious, what experience does the OP have with consoles? Have you enjoyed playing on consoles in the past? What is your thoughts on controllers vs mice?

Those may help you make your choice.
