I forgot to answer my own regrets:
1) A ZIP drive.
2) The first wedding ring.
3) My first house shortly before filing for divorce.
4) Most furnature that I've bought (luckilly there isn't much).

I bought so many of them when I was a kid thinking I'd be able to resell them as collector's items.
You could say that about almost anything that is mass produced. If you can buy "so many of them", then they probably aren't rare enough to go up in value. Its the things that you can't buy many of that can skyrocket in price. I'm sure you figured that out by now, but I see so many people still making that mistake.

dvd burner...god damn thing worked with windows 7 til i had a system update or two, and since then its just been a dvd drive

meh

Wait a min, my DVD drive recently lost all burning capabilities too. I figured it was just a hardware issue. I've been too lazy to buy a new DVD burner (not that I burn DVDs very often, I only discovered this when trying to burn an image of Win 7 with SP1 integrated when it went RTM last month)

Could a software update really cause this? Too bad I'm currently on the road or I would try burning something through Ubuntu to test it.

Damn xbox.

I had convinced myself that it would be a great 'toy' but ended up getting a nice computer and I haven't turned the xbox on in two months.

I think I should sell it but it looks so peaceful there, on top of my receiver.

i bought a whistle specifically for the purpose of blowing it. im really not sure what happened to it....

I bought an xbox hoping to get something that I could relax on for 30 minutes here and there (none of my current interests really allow for 30 minute diversions, except wasting time online).

I've played it maybe 5 hours in the last 3 months, but I've watched tons of Netflix on it.

A 2007 Chevrolet Express van and then blew money setting it up so I could drive it. Was a piece of shit.

Traded it and a 2005 Sienna Rampvan in for a 2011 Toyota Sienna modded by Braun. My DD now and it seems sweet so far. The agressiveness of the drive by wire control shit could be better. Lost alot of money on the Express

I'm tempted to say my HTPC, but I'm on the fence.

I had to have invested at least a grand into it when I probably could have just done with a modded xbox + tivo (this was back in 2004-6), but at the same time, I ended up repurposing most of the parts into one rig or another after I replaced my HTPC with a stand-alone dvr from my cable company.

1. 52" Toshiba DLP - thing was built like shit internally and had too many problems.
2. Almost all furniture - Built horribly, avoid Macy's
3. Dell and Gateway notebooks - same as above

I don't know of many games that let you jump in and out for only 30 min sessions. Racing games are the only ones I can think of like that, since they don't have stories.

LOL. This is so funny that I hope it's true.

Yep its true. Its about 11 years ago, Cousin meets a girl downtown. She attractiveish but haggard. Somethings up but this is before I knew the faces of meth. He chats her up a bit. Cousin convinces me to let her ride back to our place. She's hanging out for a couple hours. Then my cousin asks if he can borrow 20 bucks and get a ride with the girl out to somewhere I can't recall.

We drove out to a Mcdonalds near a park and went in and waited eventually a man came in who you knew was a meth addict. He sits down next to the girl they exchanges tweaker pleasantries. She slips him the 20 he produces a tiny baggie of little crystals. He leaves. At this point in the whole ordeal I'm at the point of being uncomfortable. I'm pretty liberal when it comes to drugs, but meth isn't on my list of drugs I approve of. So I tell my cousin look i'm going to home here 10 bucks for bus fare home. He talks me into at least giving him a ride to the light rail. So I drop them off and figure ok that's the end of that.

It's about 4pm when he meets her and 10pm when I drop them off at the max. I drive home and reflect on the day.I'm in my room probably on the computer, and I hear my cousin come in and I hear the girl talking a mile a minute. There's some thumping around and then a door slams shut. Then you start hearing it the unmistakable sound of two people getting it on. I throw on some music crank it to 11 and wait it out, and I waited it out, then I waited it out some more.

Finally the sun starts coming up and I hear nothing. Few minutes later I hear a couple doors open then shut. Some awkward conversation about it being fun and calls being made. I didn't ever hear her name or a phone number exchanged. The front door shuts. I come out of my room and my cousin is standing there. All he says is "I know dude I'm sticking with potheads at least they sleep"

Edit: Then there's the time I bought 50 bucks in blow and got so paranoid about having it I threw it out my car window on I-6

You drove to McDonalds and didn't even get some Chicken McNuggets? This story just failed big time.

Top Coat - I wanted one fancy winter jacket and 1 parka. Well, I got the parka and top coat, then found a peacoat I liked way more. Damn top coat fits like a glove too, so I can't fit a blazer under there.

Spring/Fall jacket - Wanted a casual jacket to replace my super snug denim/canvas one that's a few years old. I like to look fancy and have a $300 short-trench to do handle fall/winter, so this $200 thing gets virtually no use.

Laptop - Kinda... More like I wish I got a 12" Thinkpad versus my 14" Vostro. It hasn't been turned on in weeks since I prefer working on a 24" monitor... I take to class when I feel like humping a 5 pound bag.

Oh, and Ford, Microsoft, Cisco stock in the past few weeks. Turds have raped my earnings. And I thought I'd put them in there because they were "safe"... Just gotta wait for the rebound.

Here's my list:

Nintendo Wii (I only use it for Netflix streaming now, and there are better/cheaper devices for that)
Microsoft Zune 30 GB in Brown (cheap Woot purchase, but I haven't touched it since I got a Smartphone to play my media on).
Acer Aspire One netbook (Cute, but the screen and keyboard are too damn small to use frequently)
A condo at the peak of the housing bubble in 2007. Oops.
A 2003 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro. (Suze Orman is right... never ever lease a car. Ever.)
