This thread makes me realize how lucky I am I don't even need to wear dress shirts at work.
Heck I seen some of my coworkers even wear shorts. I feel odd doing that but if I see it's the norm, then awesome, I will too. The beauty of working in a laid back non customer facing building.
i used to be like that, and i am actually going to be like that again. i've only had to dress up the past 2.5 years at my current position.
to be honest i don't mind it one bit and actually like it. the only time i hate it though is during the summers when it's scorching hot and i have to be outside for a little bit when taking the train to work. but usually that is in the morning when it's not too hot.
i actually like 'looking professional' around here when going out to lunch and walking around. where i work there are a lot of professionals walking around in the general area, and it does make you feel different when dressed up. i don't know it's hard to explain until you've had to do it i guess.
and again, this is coming from somewhere i could wear shorts/t-shirt to in the summertime, for over 5 years.
but when i go to my next job in a couple weeks, can't say that i'm going to miss dressing up lol.
