I tried useing the search function, but nothing came up. Anyway, my question is:
What is the PWM? My motherboard shows the temperature for it in the BIOS, and it seems to be getting excessively hot. How can I figure out what this is? Thank you.
PWM is a method of controlling motor (i.e. your fans) by giving the motor a series of really quick on and off commands. This way, you can reduce the speed of your fan without lowering the voltage to the fan.
Your motherboard can measure the temperature and according adjust fan speed via PWM controller.
What is excessively hot? That means nothing without specifics. Also what's your system specs?
