my parents? ok.. lets see.. my dad drives an oldsmobile. a "sporty" one.. I think it has sport in the name. I can't recall the name of it, though. and my mom drives.. haha.. I have no idea what that is, it's red.. not red, cranberry.. and it's a.. it might be an oldsmobile too, else it's a chrysler of some sort. it's pretty old.. but not ancient, and she fills it with gas at least 4 times a year. but, given the demographics of this forum, those answers would probably be more applicable to a "what car do your grandparents drive question. my parents will turn 80 before the year is out.
so maybe I should answer for us, since most of y'all are more comparably aged to my kids than to myself... I'll answer as the parent.
I drive a 99 toyota sienna. my husband drives a 69 volvo p1800, when it's whole.. at the moment it's not, but all the pieces are finally here (he took the wiring harness out, and sent it to some place in sweden, and they made him a new one at quite the discount because they had been looking for a 69 one, to duplicate , and it's here and he is ecstatic but it's not in yet and there's some other new bits and what started the whole thing was the windshield and dash needed replacing so those are still out too..) so it will be eventually. when he's not driving the volvo, he drives an 87 taurus wagon. when he's not driving the taurus, the kids do. well. the daughter does, my son doesn't seem inclined to drive at all.
we're kinda weird people, in the car consumer sense. In our entire lives, which is a relatively long time, he's 51, I'm 49.. between the two of us, my husband and I have owned 5 cars.. and we still have (and drive, most of the time) 3 of 'em. when we got married (in 1979) we had 3 cars between us too.. a 68 corvair, the 69 volvo, and a 75 duster. we abandoned the corvair to scrap in 81, bought the taurus and sold the duster in 87. added the sienna in 98.
