Schadenfroh is an attention wore (like me) but he's also extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly

Nah I didn't get the drive in yet, I'm terrible when it comes to hardware I'll probably just blow up the Dell and go back to my Commodore VIC 20 with tape drive @ 300 baud.

i can't PM you so here-

the hard drive should be on its own IDE cable

if you only have one optical drive that should also be on its own IDE cable

set the jumper on the optical drive to master if it is the only one

if you have a cable select cable (connectors will be blue for mobo, gray for slave, and black for master) you can set the jumper to cable select or CS and connect it to the black connector
