I'm not sure what's going on but I just made a new system and the g0 q6600 at stock speeds is running at 80c load under prime95. 70-75c with bioshock maxed out.
I reseated the cpu and heatsink but it's reading the same temps.
Right now the comp is idling at 55-60c. I'd say the average is about 65 on normal use, and in prime95 no errors or reboots. I even set a cpu warning for 80c and it didn't trip, strangely enough.
The cooler is a zerotherm cf900 with arctic silver 5. I've built dozens of comps before I'm quite sure I didn't do something stupid. Coretemp 0.95.4 was used to get the readings.
The case itself is a mATX with only one large intake, but I doubt it would have that big of an effect on the temps. Something's off here ><
