My next question is... is there any kind of guarantee that I will receive the G0 model? I'm upgrading and after a bit of research, it seems like this is the chip I want, as long as it's the G0 model, correct?

I ordered 3 Q6600 from ZZF a week ago. They arrived 2 days ago, and all 3 were G0. They have them for $280 shipped free last time I checked.

I guess this is good for California people (no sales tax), but for others it can be found cheaper.

I think most of the B3 stepping is gone by now, unless someone had a bunch of them. The GO stepping has been out for awhile now.

Really like ZZF, but until they advertise G0, I wouldn't do it. I've seen people assume and get burned in these sit's. I ordered a G0 from ClubIt for a few dollars more and couldn't be happier. Running 3.2 GHz with a "full bore, 4 x 100%" temp of 55C tops in 80 ambient air. My Xeon 3060, same speed (2 cores) ran hotter under the same TR Ultra-120 :shocked:

G0 FTW!

Actually if the store isnt located in your state, youre exempt from sales tax.

Can you call and explain this to the lady over at my local DMV, Acanthus? I bought a car across the state line the other day and she made me pay sales tax at the rate for the city in which I live. She said she wouldn't give me the license plate until I paid tax. The nerve!

I'm sure others have posted this in the past but for completness the Franchise Tax Board of California states:

Don't know about other states but at least for me in California, because of 'use tax', tax has never killed a deal.

I prefer out of state online stores because I can leave more cash in my savings account. By April 15, that $23 or so in tax for a Q6600 turns into $24 in my high yield savings account. Take that tax man!

The previous six Q6600's I have received from ZZF were all G0, SLACR.
