Q6600 (G0) & Abit IP35 Pro

Hey.

Im running Q6600 currently at 333x9=3.0ghz with my Abit Mobo. But it seems that I cannot lower the vcore less than 1.3000v? In BIOS it shows I can only go higher, which i find very strange?`

So now the vcore is at 1.3000v.

I tried to update my BIOS through Abit Flashmenu and it said it went successfully and asked to reboot. After reboot the screen just went black and didn't post, so i reset my cmos. And now i'm running 3ghz @ 1.3000v (will do Prime95 Small Fffts later) but here's a screen of the current specs.

That's because the VID of your Q6600 is 1.3000V. More info

My Q6600 has a VID of 1.275 V, and it passes short stability tests at

9 x 333, 1.20000 V (3.00 Ghz)

9 x 354, 1.26250 V
9 x 357, 1.28125 V (3.21 Ghz)

I skipped a few trials, and I need a bit more voltage for 24/7 stability at full load. The raw data is a bit jumpy, but one sees a curve below VID, like I've seen in AnandTech articles.

My Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3P lets me do this. My "Bad Axe 2" Intel board just stares at me like an Adirondack deer, but then it needs a hardware mod to unlock its full overclocking, and still needs a jumper to be moved after failed attempts.

Yes, it is very board dependent. I cannot go lower than my VID on my IP35 Pro so you are not alone.

if its on an ip35pro, it will start at 1.1125v in the bios, then allow you to go up by .01v increments from there. ip35e goes up in .02v increments btw...:frown:
