475 fsb is pretty good for a quad. it appears a lot of quad o/c-ing (fsb at least) has to do with the motherboard (and some luck).

Apparently ... it was done with the following components:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 stepping
Asus DDR3 motherboard
Crucial Ballistix DDR3-1600/PC3-12800 DDR3 2Gb kit

CPU voltage @ 1.45
DDR3 voltage @ 2.0

Air cooling !!

If im not horribly mistaken with the right mobo and ram there are a lot of mobos that will do 500fsb.

I can suicide bench there with the rig in sig, but its not stable.

yes a lot of motherboards can do 500+ with dual core... but when it comes to quad it's a whole different story

Ive found that it comes down to whether the MOSFETs are cooled or not.

They seem to overheat from all the extra power draw if you overclock a quad.

Well, I am running@1800 on PC-6400 memory on my B3 chip. I may try 7x500 on my new G0 after its stable @ 390x9 long enough, as I think that one has PC-8000.
