Q6600 running this cool normal?

Hello, I recently upgraded my system to a Q6600 build and noticed the CPU is idling at 16c, the mobo is 21c and PWM at 38c. Under load my CPU doesn't get hotter than about 24c with about a 65 degree room temperature.

Am I either a. really luck with those temps, b. is it normal for it to be that low or c. would there be something wrong with the sensor?
I am assuming that with a new video card the temps will go up a bit.
Also, are my PWM temps normal in idle? (haven't checked load), how hot is it allowed to get?
And the last q: the BFT90 is a little bit bigger or my mobo is too small than planned so the heatsink is touching the large mobo heatsink next to it and even tipping it slightly because it is pressed against it, is this a problem?

System:
(old) Antec Smartpower 2.0 500w
Intel Q6600 G0
Abit IP35-e
2 GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800
(old)Seagate Barracuda 7200 SATA 160 GB (need to upgrade)
Geforce 6600 GT (waiting for 8800GT benchies to upgrade that one)

System has 4 case fans (2 80mm in front, 1 80mm on side panel and 92mm in back)
CPU is cooled by a Zerotherm BFT-90 "Butterfly" (+ AS5) lined up directly with the exhaust fan.

Planning to try some o/c soon!

No that doesn't sound right at all. If you were water cooling it then those would seem right. Try using the program CoreTemp: http://www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/CoreTemp/ and see what that gives you. If you are still getting the same readings, I would have to think that your sensors are messed up. It's pretty hard to get those temps on air if you haven't lapped anything or done anything special.

With an Asus P5K-E I get similar readings in the bios or with Asus' Probe software. There is a beta version of speedfan which corrects this as even their current released version is wrong. You need to add about 15 degrees to your temps.

All right, I'll give that a try a little later and post the results of that, thanks thus far. Any idea on my other questions as well?

All right, this time I used coretemp instead to measure and it does indeed make a difference. While Abit's utility was showing the previously mentioned readings, coretemp shows a temp that is about 10c higher: 24-25c on idle

It's not possible for air or water to get down to room temp.

CoreTemp is closer, but still too low for air cooling. Something's off.

Are you sure you downloaded the version that correct for the G0 steppings, version .95.4? Version .95 is 15C lower than .95.4, with G0's.

Aye I did, it's the latest version. Apparently I was reading the temp for the 3rd core in that though:
the temps on all 4 cores are:
1: 30c
2: 27c
3: 26c
4: 31c

Does THAT seem normal?

Low, but not impossible. You have a good cooler and a good mount with AS5 on a GO.

Magic 8-ball sez: Prognosis for OC is very good.

P.S., My idle temps are in the mid to upper 30s with the rig listed below.

All right, wittangamo, your post made me wanna give it a shot. I set my BIOS to 9x333 with a 1:1 RAM divider, cpu at stock voltage and RAM at 1.9v using the auto settings of 5-5-5-14 (i believe)

Been running Prime95 on all 4 cores for about 2 hrs thus far and load temp of core 1 peaks at 54c. Where do I go from here? Is that temp good so far?
Should I change my RAM divider to have it run closer to its DDR-2 rating? and/or tighten the timings on the RAM?
I believe the Ballistix are rated for 4-4-4-10 if I'm not mistaken.
