So it's that time for me to pull the trigger on a processor for a new computer. I was thinking of getting the X3220 from ClubIT at http://www.clubit.com/product_...il.cfm?itemno=A1938011 simply because it's a good price ($277 + $4.99 shipping) at a reputable vendor. Then, I saw a newspaper ad where Fry's was selling a motherboard combo and Q6600 for $268 http://shopping.dallasnews.com/ROP/ads.aspx?advid=2519. Assuming that it's possible to return the motherboard at a pro-rated price, do you guys think it would be better to grab the X3220 or the Q6600? As I understand it, the X3220 is basically a higher bin of the Q6600 so it should, technically, run a smidge cooler and perhaps overclock a little better. However, have people noticed a difference in the real world? Or should I just aim for whatever has the lower price?
