Got it up and running and no glitches. That is a plus. 1.250 is the vid ( seems high for this chip ) and decided to ramp it up and never adjusted the voltage and it has passed a 4 hour OCCT test @ 3.2. Will do more tests tomorrow. Going to fine tune. Right now I am enjoying the results and the pre 4th fireworks!

Mine has 1.250 VID also.

your mobo is newer and similar to mine

have you seen the bios setting that let you up the cpu multiplier to 8.5?

I have seen that my abit p35-pro bios lets it go up to 8.5, but that's not supposed to be technically possible for the chip, so I didn't set it to that. Does it work?

That would be a no on the 8.5? I will do some checking tomorrow. But as for now, this chip seems to be very cool. I have the Q6600 also, which this chip replaced and OC'ing it ( the Q6600 ) was much more difficult at this speed. But as I said Tomorrow........Still having fun here blowing up the night sky! Happy 4th!

Congrats man! Gotta love the 12Mb L2 Cache!!!

That vcore sounds about right as I had my 9300 @ 3400Mhz and it was nailed at 1.248v from 1.275 bios with load line calibration enabled.

Good Luck!

Very Nice! I am anticipating mine coming early next week...picked one up on that MS cash-back deal 25% off. Maybe I should pick up that HSF you are using...this Freezer 7 Pro worked great for my E8400, but I dont think it has the juice to cool a quad....

i hear you man. i just got to 3.8Ghz stable on my q9450 just a few minutes ago...i can see 4Ghz but windows wont load (probably cause my cpu voltage is WAY too low and i didnt mess with any other settings).

Thanks. I picked up this chip @ microcenter for $300.00. As of Wednesday, they only had 17 left. And when I called in to check, they said when they're gone, they're gone.

The Tuniq is a very good HS and I Lapped it when I first got it. Yesterday, when I was hooking everything back up, booted and all was good, Put it to some tests and I left outside for a few. Came back in and all my fans were OFF! The temps were no higher than 68c. When I checked out the system, found to be a bad connection in a plug. So, the Tuniq did its job and did it well for that short period of time, say like an hour without fans.

So, As I sit here, I will now be running more tests to reach at least 3.6.

After last night, seems to me that I will take longer to get motivated due to the lack of sleep...big party here last night:roll:

Congrats! hope this chip can do the same.

i tried it on my ip35 pro. it doesn't work.

edit: +1 on tuniq, I have it on two of my three quads. I lapped the one on my Q6600 with excellent results btw.

@OP: my vid on my 9450 is 1.225, and it's 1.20 on my x3350. 1.25 is pretty normal imho.

Well that is good to know on the vid. Didn't know on this chip. My Q6600 was 1.325Vid and had to adjust the voltage to 1.4+ to be stable @ 3.2. As with the Q9450, running stock voltage @ 1.250v and so far with all tests, very stable and cool. Going to push it a bit more later today.

And yes, the Tuniq just rocks!

hehe... sad thing is these chips can do 4ghz if your FSB wasnt so limited. :T

Im seeing this now on most yorkies. If you can exceed your FSB wall, the chips have no problems holding 4.0ghz @ 1.36-1.4vcore.

Well just jumped it up to 413 fsb to get 3.3Ghz and no change to voltage. Started OCCT and been running for over 10 mins and so far all is well. Here is a screeny. The only change of voltage I made is to the memory at a +.1v. As memory @ 1:1 is now at 826Mhz. No auto settings.

The crazy thing is that I do expect a wall as this is the highest I have had this board set to as of now. We shall soon see where the wall will be. I may possably never get there as my Ram may hold me back.

Yes it has an 8x multi. I believe your q9300 does as well.

I am running my ram @ 1066mhz with a 3:4 ratio. It seems to help a ton when you can get a good ratio like 3:4, 5:6, 1:1

So have yuo tried 8.5 multi yet? I turned it on and saw Windows recognized the speed correctly, but I dont know what it did to jack up the multiplier.

I haven't even tried if there is a .5 multi. I have been testing and I had it up to 3.3 without changing the voltages. As of now I have it testing for about 45 mins at 3.4 with a voltage bump to 1.26875v in bios and a vdroop @ 1.216 according to cpu-z. Temps Around the 55c range on all cores. I think this is going to be about the limit as my memory is @ 850Mhz @ 1:1. This chip seems to have a good mhz to voltage ratio. Low voltage bump to higher mhz.

I was doing some checking and the bios you are refering to is the f3e. I have f2. Right now the f3e bios is for some of the newer wolfdale chips. I haven't flashed it as the yorkie needs the f2 that came default with the board. With that being said, even if I flashed it, I don't know if it would give that multi of .5 as this chip (q9450) is an 8x.

Your board uses f10 for that chip which is also the same bios for the Q9550 which IS a .5 multi.
