i might consider one then but i am keeping my 6600. it has low vcore and is a keeper. going to have 2 computers for the first time ever.

These quads are really fun to O/C. I'm about to cross over to the 4Ghz realm ... hoping to reach 4.25Ghz on air.

Could you post what did it take to go to 4GHZ and what are the temps?

1. Had to bump the Vcore to 1.3V (from nominal 1.15)
2. MCH Voltage also got bumped to 1.36V
3. Memory volts were set to 2.1 (these OCZ chips operate best above 2V)

I think that's it. The rest of the values were set to their defaults (Do not leave on Auto).

Temps are decent. Low 30s when idling, mid 50s when loaded with prime, and low 60s when running Linx, which I believe creates absolutely the worst case scenario for a CPU.

Mine on stock gives me some weird temps. They start just a degree or two above ambient, which cannot be, at least in my book, though it is on TRUE w/push pull. I thought that these quads run hotter then C2D. Also one core is stuck on 39c so I don't know if I can trust these sensors.
