Is it just me or is this unacceptable. The eBay seller seems to think its normal. Paid extra for "Pixel perfect". No bad pixels but I see light in most every situation.

yea that looks horrible, I can accept certain amount of bleed but that seems very bad. my nexus 4 has bothersome light bleed which bugs me but since I don't watch videos on it, I tend to look past the flaw but whenever I see I just feel the need to rma.

Not all are that bad, but I can't say this is uncommon. There are several different mods you can do to dramatically reduce it. Not all BLB has the exact same root cause. Sometimes it's the plastic bezel/housing, sometimes it's the metal frame, sometimes it's just how the panel got seated in the housing, sometimes it's a mixture, etc...it can vary.

I completely removed the plastic bezel/housing and used an epoxy weld to attach the circuit board and VESA mount to the back of the metal panel frame. That helped a lot, but it's still not quite perfect. I'd probably need to dismantle the metal panel frame and bend it into better form to entirely fix it, but it's just not worth it at this point. Mine was still not nearly that bad completely stock, though.

The QNIX monitors are really only a good buy if you're a tinkerer or happen to be lucky and get a really good unit.

Yeah that is really more effort than Im willing to put into a 350$ item. I could deal with smal amount of bleed but two spot lights hurt my eyes. If the guy will refund my purchase I will buy a dell or maybe try the Overlord screens. My 3 year old 24 inch 1080P Samsung is better than this.

Wow that's bad, sorry you got stuck with a panel like that. These kind of QC issues with cheap panels is the reason I stick with NEC monitors. NEC sells discounted refurbished monitors on their website, and there's also a website called edexdeals.com that sells NEC refurbs (I believe they're the 3rd party that does refurbs for NEC, when I ordered a return from NEC the return address was edexdeals). The best part is that NEC has a 1 year warranty on their refurbs, and their customer service and RMA policy is great.
