I disabled it, deleted the file for the most part it works fine. I installed quicktime player update and qttask.exe started taking up all CPU again, you can not even end it while it's running. I tried searching on google for qttask.exe and cpu and not finding much on the subject.

It's fine for right now, but he next time quicktime is updated it's going to start happening again I'm sure. Has anyone seen this before?

Yes, I had the same problem once, I hate Quicktime, but I need it for iTunes. Reinstalling it worked for me and I haven't had the problem since.

Make sure that you don't let Quicktime startup at boot. Windows Defender has a good interface for getting rid of startup programs you don't need.

If it isn't running then iTunes won't start, so unfortunately I am stuck with it. And quicktime alternative does not work with iTunes.

Enjoy the trolling?

My suggestion is to completely remove quicktime, reboot and then try to reinstall. Also, a long shot but sometimes I've found that the prefetch data can cause applications to act up. Go into
C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch and remove everything there and try another reboot

May I suggest a smiley next time so people dont take it as trolling? At one forum I used to frequent we had a saying, "The smilies make it alright"
