Quad monitor

Is it possible to run multiple graphics cards in the same computer to get 4 video outputs? Or does this have to be done with a single graphics card which has multiple outputs? At anyrate I imagine XP can not run quad settup so some sorta utility is needed to manage the monitors. If anyone knows what components/ software is needed to get something like this running I would greatly appreciate the help.

You can stick as many PCI graphics cards into your PC as you have PCi slots. They won't be good at 3-d though.

You can do it on little as 2 Graphics cards...Matrox makes em so you can join a MMS series (G200 or G100) with an AGP card...Here's one that I slapped together. It's to have dedicated email window and I use Seperate Browsers as well as a spreadsheet to comboi tand if I tun a MM player then it'll join in

Actually, XP is able to support up to 9 monitors, I think. You just need to get a couple PCI graphics cards, and one AGP dual-head card. Or you can go for all PCI. Not sure if two SLI-ed cards would work though.

You don't even need two PCI cards. I have a dual-head Radeon 9700 and a dual-head PCI Radeon 7000. I can run four displays.

I have done it on multiple systems using one AGP and one or more PCI cards. The problem is the PCI card. I've had great success with a Millenium II, TNT 2, and various Radeon's in the PCI slot, but it's getting harder and harder to find PCI video cards. If you move to WinXP 64-bit then it does not have drivers for the old cards so you will have to buy a PCI card with a relatively new video chip.

The card that I have in my PC at work support 4 monitors off one card (I only have 2 running but I know others that have 4) the cards are made by Appian Link here. Looking at the website suggests the phoenix and the rushmore support 4 monitors.
