Q6600 G0

running at 3.3ghz at 1.375vCore in BIOS prime small ffts stable for 2 hours temps are at mid 60's full load.

ambient temps are just about 80F in here, which is killing my temps when i try to go higher. i clocked 3.6ghz with 1.41v in bios and ran a few series of prime small ffts on all 4 cores but my temps were at 69-71 so i stopped it. with lower ambient temps, or WC (never done it), this chip would probably run 3.6 24/7

rig is in sig. right now only 2gb are in of the ram. the other 2gb kit is in the mail.

ordered super noob Swiftech H20-120 Premium to test this quad out with at this point i cant afford anything a dollar more than this.

since my hard drives are in the lower chamber of my p180 i dont see much of a heat issue.

lookin forward to a 3.4+ 24/7 OC with this.

it's really embarassing to quote yourself. especially when you're wrong. I'm stuck at 3511 on my e6750, and that's at 1.47 vcore...

What the chart is saying is that... G0 will get you 3.3ghz and higher it seems. We need more users but thats what it is at the moment.

I couldn't leave well enough alone. I flashed the bios and now I can't use my previously stable 3504 settings. oh, well, back to the drawing board...

My 1.435v wasn't Prime stable, had to go up to 1.450v. I'll see if it lasts overnight later, had to turn it off cuz my wife was complaining the computer was CHUGGING LMAO. OH well.

Looks like 3.5 GHz is probably the upper-ish limit for B3's (and that's with a 965 mobo), unless you juice up the vCore alot and have some GREAT cooling. I'm probably gonna back mine down to 3.2ghz and leave it there 24/7.....I don't need the extra 200 mhz....too much power draw and heat being produced.....not worth it in my opinion.

3.2 ghz stable not a problem. 3.4 requires alot more vcore and produces alot more heat. Tradeoff there isn't advantageous.

Thanks for adding the mobos. Look at all those 965s!!

Will be getting my shipments all in by mid-week, so I should have OC data by the weekend. Pray for rain, otherwise I will be wakeboarding and I won't have time to OC!

Why don't you stick to posting your results in your own thread ? You made one just for your overclock, and its NOT a Q6600. Are you going to hijack every post on the board ?

And after the comments you made about being glad you didn't get a Q6600, this is the LAST place you should post your results.

everyone seems to have an after market cooler.... what type of luck people getting with the stock cooler from the retail kit?

I plan on getting a Q6600, so this has been greatly informative!! I just wanted 334x9 and that seems easily attainable within reasonable temps!!

Hi guys, I just wanted to know whether this overclock is average/strange/whatnot, and what you think about my temps. I am a first time overclocker, and also a university student who bought this rig on a budget .

Q6600 B3 @3GHZ, 9x333, 1.375 VCore
P5K Vanilla
2GB 800 Crucial Ballistix
Artic Cooling Freezer Pro 7
Thermaltake Tsunami Dream Case

7+ hours stable w/ 2x Orthos & core affinities set.

TAT/Coretemp Temperatures:
Idle: ~45C
Full 2x Orthos load: 62-65C (the first two cores stayed near 65, the other two stayed near 62; temperatures never rose above 65C)
Playing Oblivion: ~50C

I couldn't get the small fft Orthos tests running for more than half an hour on anything less than 1.375Vcore, although the Mem/CPU stress testing ran at much lower voltages.

I've heard about people using only 1.2625Vcore, and found that super surprising.

What do you think?
