you can update my oc.

it was a little cooler yesterday so i ran it at 3.4ghz with 1.45v for a few hours running prime small ffts

still waiting on cooler weather or better cooling to see if i can run 3.6 stable. with my vdroop of .1v ill have to run it at about 1.53v in bios to do that to have 1.42v actual under load, and my ninja cant cut it as i have stated too many times.

You know, I am kind of sick of seeing posts referring to extrmesystems threads, as they don't care about 24/7 100% load stability for a month, just best speed they can reach for a benchmark... Big difference.

You want to see what my lowly 2 Q6600's have been up to ? here is my stability....
Check Anandtechs own F@H specs for me.
And BTW, I have 300 point that hasn't registered today, but look at my average ppd.
Better yet, check my last 7 dasy numbers here....

Well I took another crack at it, lowered my multiplier and cranked the FSB up, it actually ran cooler.

Made it to 3.2 stable now for 6 hours primed.

the #1 stress tested q6600 i have seen is from xtremesystems.

Why don't you stick to posting your results in your own thread ? You made one just for your overclock, and its NOT a Q6600. Are you going to hijack every post on the board ?

And after the comments you made about being glad you didn't get a Q6600, this is the LAST place you should post your results.
Well, I was glad the other day that I didn't get a Q6600, but that was before I realized that most e6750's end up at 3.4-3.6. Maybe I have quad core envy. Sorry, wasn't trying to hijack the thread, but strange things happen to you when you're oc'ing at 3 am.

Help to cure quad envy!

I plan on getting a Q6600, so this has been greatly informative!! I just wanted 334x9 and that seems easily attainable within reasonable temps!!

If you can wait a few days, I can rip off the Intel stock cooler from my E6400 with a copper core and see how it cools a Q6600.

Apology accepted..

Now at least you have all the ingredients except the chip if you change your mind and get a Q6600....

OT: mark - sell your car and buy about 40 more systems and fold some more for BE (not like you don't have enough point)

Shimmishim, I see you fold for BE, and I am number 3 there and was number one contributor (now number 2) and I fold for anandtech (number one contributor, number 3 coverall).

So, are you saying desert anandtech again ???? I an trying to help both, but the two quads are going to anandtech at the moment.. My total average is now almost 10k/day between the two.

Quads kick arse in F@H !

Just got my G0 plugged into my DS3 .

I'm testing at 3.4 - 1.35 vcore

The VID on this part is 1.3 , but it was crashing at this setting at 3.4g ..

I'm planning on moving this to a new P35 in the next few days, so I will be lapping it and playing
more with the voltage to get best results..

As I side note, I accidentally found my RAM to be more uber than I imagined ..

I upped the FSB without adjusting the dividers and had my RAM running at 1134 before
I bothered to check ..

Too bad the high RAM doesn't really improve overall performance that much ....

I have a xeon X3230 G0 running with an intel E6600 stock cooler (not a quad stock cooler). Its my temporary solution until my water block arrives.

Its running at 2.66G with 1.22v real. Temperatures are 38 idle (45ish per core) and 53 load (60ish per core). It's stable at 3.6G with 1.4v real, but the temperatures are not nice. Well, what can you do with an E6600 stock cooler...

I think that should give you a good indication of what to expect. I think that you can easily run a Q6600 G0 at 3.6G with its stock cooler (which has almost twice the RPM of the E6600 stock cooler). But you must have good airflow in your case. Whether its stable or not, its a luck of draw

I will post my results in this thread when my waterblock comes in. Expect my overclock to crush all the otherones, cause im not gonna be gentle with the voltage this time

@ OP, my ES is a G0, not a B3. And her MAX stable on WCG for 2 weeks was 4ghz. This was all under water, on a Gigabyte P35-DQ6 running Crucial Tracer PC8500 on a Antec Quattro 850 PSU.

My regular B3 Q6600 is at 3.6ghz under water. And she has been doing WCG for 1.5 month straight with very little downtime. The last downtime was because i burnt my board out. EVGA replaced it with another broken board, and thats when i got fed up, and replaced that board with a Asus P5K-Deluxe.

My X3220 is on a Gigabyte P35-DS3P, and is currently on WCG crunching @ 3.375 for 2 months.

My X3210 is at 3.2ghz 400fsb x 8 and she's been doing some major photoshop editing for a friend of mine, as well as pulled some WCG time on it.

My clocks are stable. There not benchmark settings, there full WCG loading settings. But mark i have to agree with you on some parts.

1.5Vcore+ <Reported in ASUS Probe> which tiramisu is pushing on his quad for 3.8ghz on AIR, has to be the stupidist thing you can do for a 24/7 loaded quad. Hell, the one thing that hasent stopped me from posting my 4ghz full loaded WCG screenie is because ive gotten lazy to copy and paste it, and then load it up on my Photobucket.

Also my chip is an ES, so theres no point in posting it for people to compare off of. But i have to agree with mark on this case. I would like to see a quadcore higher then 3.6ghz pull a Prime95 longer then 6 hours for it to be deemed a stable overclock.

I dont think tiramisu can pull off a smallFFT prime95 longer then 45 min before he starts to smell his TIM burning.

No need to go out of your way. I was just wondering what type of results are possible, if someone is already doing it. I might get a Arctic Freezer or something if its fairly inexpensive, but i really don't want to spend too much on cooling, Quad core is so much more power than i need anyway that OC'ing is completely not necessary.

Sorry that sentence isnt in my linguistics.

You have a quad core as a NAS... is that completely necessary? I was going to turn my sempron into my NAS once i get my quad up and running.

And yeah, it is too much power. I have been using my dual core for the last two, three weeks and i have noticed that it spends 95% of the time in C n' Q mode running at 1.2v and 1.39GHz. If i can get by on a Opty165 running at 1.39 GHz. I think a Q6600 is just going to overkill for me. But at these prices, why the hell not? Plus the MB on the Opty is dieing so i have to replace it soon anyway.

Holy CRAP!!!!! The stock cooler just can't handle a quad. Slapped on the Intel HSF, in the BIOS, CPU temp was reading 57C. Booted into Windows, idled at 62. Under full load, it got up to 85C. So the CPU most likely throttled at this point. And I reset everything to stock values. Imagine if I left it OCed at 3.1GHz. Well temps may drop a little if I let the AS5 settle in for a few thermal cycles. Does Intel have a retail box for a quad? Or all the quads only OEM units?

i just installed a thermalright ultra 120 extreme with shin-etsu paste.

my ninja was a POS compared to this cooler.

my load temps with the ninja were hitting 69/71 @ 3.4ghz with the same volts as my loads now @ 3.42ghz being 10c less at 61/59. ambient temps have been more or less the same, high 70F in the room, and humid.

i benched this at 3.5 for 15 minutes but i gotta goto bed its late eastern time and worky in the mornin.

i also idle 5-6 degrees lower.

i expect to be stable close to 3.6 or higher but ill run this 24/7 at 3.42 since my idle is nice and 61 load is dandy with me since real world usage will never get there - and provide an updated OC after hours of prime stable on my high oc.

with both coolers i ran an antec tri-cool on high (due to summer)

in fall/winter i run the fan on medium or low.
