Quadro versus GeForce

I'm new here so first off I would like to say a warm hello.

I am hoping to resolve a problem and I'm really trying to write this as briefly as possible so I don't lose your interest.

I run a (very) small business that can't afford to buy computers for specific tasks. Therefore I want to buy a laptop that can meet my working requirements at the office and also my personal 'fun' needs such as music and video editing, which would be performed at home. So no prizes for guessing that I want my new computer to be portable.
My business is in car design. The software I use is called ICEMsurf. It's a 3-D modelling software similar to alias. Both of which are used in the design industry. I know laptops are powerful enough for the task and a seperate larger screen will solve visual issues for reviewing work. I would need to render the 3D models to give them a more realistic look which helps the designer. The rendering programme also shows shadows and reflections which means it will need a decent graphics card and memory.

Right then. ICEMsurf recommend quadro. The only quadro I have seen in a laptop of a design I care for (Tecra M5) is the smallest NVS110M. I have read in some of your posts that it isn't suited for gaming. My first question is;
1)does anyone know if it is suitable for industrial use as previously explained?
And secondly
2), Although a GeForce 7600 is suitable for gaming, would it be suitable for industrial use?

I've recognised that there are some pretty smart computer literate people here. However, I'd appreciate answers aimed at a guy who's not too au faix with computer speak. I can use the tool but I don't know how many mice are running around inside working the wheels.

Thanks.

Andrew.

The consensus is that if money is no issue and you are making money from your design, then a quadro is nice, but for 99% of users a Geforce does the job pretty nicely.

The difference between the Geforces and Quadros are pretty much only the drivers and the Quadros perform better in Opengl.

My advice to all who don´t have money to burn is to get a Geforce. My wife is a graphics artist and she would rather spend the money on something else than the over priced Quadros.

Thanks for your answer. (I even emailed NVidia to no avail.) It has settled me somewhat. I presume your answer would also apply to ATI Radeons vs ATI Mobility Fire.
