I've never been able to play Quake 2 online at my preffered monitor refresh rate of 85hz without experiencing stuttering when i attempt to make quick turns or sudden movements. What is especially odd is that this problem does NOT occur when i host a game or act as a server, nor does it happen during offline play. The default of 60hz plays fine online, but i would rather not use that setting for gaming because of dizziness concerns. I use the nvidia CP "refresh rate override" option to set all games for 85hz.
Does anybody here have any idea what may be causing this stuttering problem? Never had it happen on win98SE, and it's a not a hardware issue either, as ive been through many parts from the time i intially discovered the problem a couple years ago. Finally have decided to make an attempt to find a solution for it.
