Back in stock, but dwindling. Also used the 12% coupon link from another site, and added some paper clips (non-media item) to get $1 shipping. I also tacked on Arrested Development Season 3 for good measure. Good deal!

Dang I didn't nkow aobut the free coke and with the free coke it is cheaper than overstock. Btw I didn't waste gas - I walked Well ok so i wasted some gas but it was free...

Game was ok - a little short but not too bad for $15. I'm on the last battle of hte last section. I'm not esp fast but it took 15 or 18 hours of game time.

per original note I really dislike how the doom engine interacts with environment. Also don't like the artifical barries that block various paths.

I had the exact same problem. Disk 4 was bad ... it could not copy the last file off the disk. I exchanged it and the replacement works perfectly.

I picked up my copy from my local Best Buy. I'm gonna try it out now. Thanks OP!

EDIT: Wow... I think I got pretty far... I'd guess it was worth $15 if the gameplay keeps up like this (single player mode). I'd like a little more plot and story line like there was in Half-Life, but this is some good adrenaline pumping action.

I should mention that it is just a little bit more demanding (system wise) then I had expected. I needed to drop down to High Quality (not Ultra), down to 4x AA, and down to 12X7 (not 1600x1200) but I am running very smooth at these settings. I might need to increase my Overclock back to 2.4Ghz (I am @ 2.1 now) to allow me to increase my settings again. I certainly miss having 2GBs of ram when loading scenes (my new mobo won't boot with more then (1) one GB stick in it (the max. is supposed to be 2GBs)).

GD Overstock. They cancelled my order. This is the last time I order anything from them, again. Anyone's order still alive?

Awesome, thanks, OP! Going to use a $5 McDonald's ticket and get Q4 for $10 plus the two free Cokes that I'll use with my Jim Beam Black!

It's actually 2 DVDs vs 4cds. The second DVD contains alot of making-of type stuff and the original Quake II and both mission packs (Q4 continues the storyline of Q2)

i passed on this before because i had a 9800 pro then. on x800 xt pe now so i should be able to run it decently. i hope BB will clearance the DVD version sometime soon (i hate clutter and "insert disk" efforts). don't want to wait too long for this price again.

i dig quake... shooting accuracy isn't affected by movent... just like in the real world

My 9700 Pro ran Doom 3 decently, actually. I upgraded to an X850XT, which definitely helps, however.

YMMV, but Target had this on clearance for $7.48 (75% off). I think it's the CD version, but still not too shabby.

What bad CD? I was actually loading it last night and it came up with an error that I didn't have a certain file on my C: drive.

I have AGP. I have a decent CPU (I bought a Socket 754 CPU and mobo at the worst possible time, in the summer of 2004) and don't do a ton of PC gaming, so I didn't really want to do a whole system upgrade. I bought my X850XT when Microcenter was closing them out for $200 this past winter.

My 9700 Pro was really really good to me - I ran that thing for more than three years! That was one of the greatest quantum leaps in video-card technology, ever. I've had various nVidia and 3Dfx cards in the past, but the 9700 Pro was by far the best, in its era. I like my X850XT as well.
