This is probably the most danger Bin Laden has been in since 2001. Go Earth!!! America's best friend, except when its destroying our gulf coast..

Disasters are not on the rise. Media attention definately is though. So is our sense of dread it seems.

I think something important to think about is the fact that there's a lot more people around, so when things happen, there's more roofs to cave in and kill, etc.

I know there's been some serious doozies going back 100-1000 years. Like an earthquake in India that killed 300,000 (1737) and am flood in China that killed 3.7 million (1937) just to name a few. Remember the shark attacks a few years back? Let's keep things in perspective.

Good luck to all those affected by this tragedy.

How long is it before Bush is blamed for detonating some underground nuke over there? Don't laugh, it happened after the Tsunami.

Actually none of the countries involved in the Tsunami blamed the US. It was the Arabs who blamed Israel, India and the US for that. In fact all of the Tsunami damaged nations sent the best help they could when Katrina hit.

30 times the death toll of Katrina and already it's like it never happened. Just disposable people there on the other side of the world.

How tragically ironic!

They have a history of launch failures from submarine and this rocket model.

I don't know if they have had even one sucessful launch.

Wrong! this particular missle ROKOT AKA Stiletto is modified recent ballistic missle and had 7 successful satellite launches before this one.

It seems the number of large natural catastrophes is on the rise... hurricanes, quakes, tsunamis... something MUST be happenng to the Earth. Perhaps it is time to consider some serious multinational investigations on these matters.

The Earth kills a lot of people, it must be stopped.

I a propose a UN hearing on the matter. If the Earth is found to be killing thousands of people each year then we need to vote to sanction the earth. If the Earth fails to comply then we need to invade and bring the Earth to justice!

Then this makes perfect sense. If they have a 0% success rate then they should definately use it to launch multi-million dollar projects.

I'm from Islamabad. While the initial tremors were a terrifying and new thing for us, the real tragedy is the 30,000+ killed and hundreds of thousands shelterless, foodless in the north.

God Almighty help us all!

Where do you get that from?

If you think that's my attitude, you need a few more trips to the couch to exorcise those psychological demons, fundie.

Uzair, how are you and your family? Are they all safe?
Yeah we are in Rawalpindi next to Isb and as you know no buildings other than Margalla Towers fell here. Let's pray that no more big quakes come at least for a hundred years!
