Welp, seems like that's all, they spent like 2 minutes explaining the chip, the rest is partner showcases and ads.

Yeahhh to be fair, the M3 hadn’t come out at that point.

On that one slide where it says 28% percent faster than M3, I mean, we all know that’s not fair considering it’s 12P cores, compared to 4P and 4E. Damn schemers. Can’t correctly compare against the M3 Pro. Smh.

Asus announced their new ProArt PZ13 and a version of the Vivobook S15 powered by the 8-core X Plus.

Microsoft announced that the Snapdragon versions of the Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 will be available ln September 10th for business customers.

DirectML now supports the Snapdragon NPU.


Google Drive app is coming to Windows-on-ARM in Q4. This will be much welcomed by Snapdragon X users.

The first time they showed a graph like this (X elite), it turned out to be a big fat lie. You shouldn't trust them at all. Also, they provided no benchmark scores today, very scummy.

That's a funny statement. How important are we really?

We are deep enthusiasts of CPUs and silicon. A niche within a niche. We don't represent the general consumer.

If you recall, I absolutely roasted them for their decision to release the X1E-78 without no boost whatsoever;

Well, then they are setting themselves up for failure in the WoA space. They can't win with this kind of attitude. If Qualcomm is so arrogant, I will not feel sorry for them when Nvidia joins WoA and pummel them.

If Qualcomm really wanted to segment X Elite and X Plus so bad, then they could have done:

1) 'Dual Core Boost' for X Elite, and 'Single Core Boost' for X Plus.

2) 4.2 GHz Core Boost for X Elite, and a reduced 4.0-3.8 GHz Core Boost for X Plus

I would have preferred if they had done only one of the two, but I could tolerate a combination of both .

Instead we have no Core Boost for X Plus, and the it's capped at a measly 3.4 GHz.

What's gonna happen to the Purwa part? Is it going to be capped at 3 GHz or something?

What is this? A circus?

It really does feel like they directly took my suggestion. It's 4 GHz Single Core Boost.

Geekerwan sponsored Kurnalsalts to take a die shot of the X Elite. Normally Kurnal would post the labelled die shots on his twitter, but for the X Elite he didn't because Geekerwan sponsored it. So Kurnal's die shot of the X Elite was supposed to be released in Geekerwan's X Elite review video.

But that review video is still not out. It's been 2.5 months since X Elite released, and Geekerwan still hasn't released a review. At this rate, I think Geekerwan will have a Lunar Lake review put before X Elite (he has already reviewed Strix Point)...

We know they do compete with the HX 370 beat on single thread performance (higher in R24, similar in GB6.3, ~5% less in spec2017int). I’m more curious about the max performance power draw of the HX 370. Seems like the it’s around 19-21W compared to 17-18W for the X80 (NBC didn’t use the X84 for its analysis, so I’m assuming 18W or so). Which results in 10% less power draw at peak performance. Basically the chart for Snapdragon is fine but they short change AMD, and the curve is steeper. So yeah for sure on the power draw they’re being misleading, but not with CB24 1T. Half and half we’ll call it.

(Unfortunately computerbase uses CB for its power draw results, while notebookcheck uses GB. But I surmise the comparison is still valid.)

Seems like the GPU score for X1P-42 in GFX bench is comparable to UHD 710 or 730.
And 3D mark shows that 8-core performs half as good as 10/12-core
