Quality of Kingston ValueRam?

I have 2 sticks of 256mb PC2100 Kingston ValueRam , and I'm just wondering whether they are good or not, because I frankly dont know anything about them other than it sounds like a name brand product.

Mainly, what are people's overclocking success with them? Do they crap out easily or are they stable even at higher FSB speeds?

Kingston Value Ram is very good, generally rated as Cas3

I think if the ram doesn't spec out @ the higher rating, it's sold as value ram.

Kingston valueram is generally good ram for normal use. They manufacture their Dimm modules themselves but may use chips from several different manufacturers on those modules in different batches. I have a pair of pc2700 512 meg kingston dimms with samsumg chips on them. I have seen similar Kingston modules using winbond, or nanya, or Infineon, or micron chips. Kinda potluck on which you will get. The warranty(Lifetime) on ValueRam and customer service from kingston is also very good. My experience has been very good with them.

My wife's PC has 512 MB of PC-133 Kingston Value RAM and it runs fine. Have never tried to OC the RAM on her comp. I think you might get a little out of it.

yeah but i'm trying for some major overclocking on my processor. going for 166fsb. The impression I'm getting is I dont think 133fsb kingston would be able to go that high.... which means I'll just have to buy some faster memory.

I ran my 2100 512MB stick of Kingston Value Ram at 150fsb, and it ran fine. I dunno about 166, I would look for some reviews on the web, many usually include kingston

Buy PC2700 if you want PC2700 speed. The extra 10 dollars is worth avoiding the disappointment you get when you find your PC2100 won't overclock.

The only experience I've had with KVR was a positive one, running a CAS3 PC133 stick easily at 137 fsb, 5-2-2-2 timings and CAS2. Helped the bandwidth on the crappy K7SEM mobo a bit. I was impressed. Go for it if you already have the memory. If you can return it and get PC2700 there shouldn't be a big $$$ difference.

Well I have run some pc2100 kingston at 166 and it ran just fine but that is just one module. with all the different memory chips thay may be using on amy given module i would doubt that all of them could do that. Pc2700 kingston is only a few more buck for a 512 module at newegg I suggest you get that and not have to worry about it.
