Quality of newegg.com refurbs?

Hi, I'm trying to build a cheap system to use as a second computer on my desk. This is just going to be used so I can log a second account on a certain game.. doesn't require massive specs. Most of the parts are newegg reburbs including CPU, motherboard, vid card, and hard drive.

Am I making a huge gamble in trusting that everything will work? Everything is supposed to have a 30-day warranty, and I'm only spending $300 on everything. Below is a link to a spreadsheet with complete specs (minus NIC.. gonna get the $5 special from CompUSA tomorrow )

Also, if you notice anything that could be replaced, please let me know. Price-performance ratio is key with this system.

I might be mistaken, but my understanding is that such refurbs are not done by Newegg, but sold by them. They get them from the manufacturer. My experience with refurbs is good. quality control and inspection on refurbs is usually 100%. Whereas on new items , it is based on a production lot sample, not usually 100% tested. I feel you have a better chance of getting a fully tested product with a refurb than a new item. 30 days should be long enough to see if you have any "infant mortality." Beyond that you are usually good to go with electronic devices.

Thanks for the reply. I have no idea where they get refurbs, you're probably right. I just wanted to make sure that they are not known for selling dead items as refurbs before I bought this stuff.

I think they get them from returns from them, cause when I bought a vid card from them someone had returned it before and they wrote kinda hard so you could see their writing that they wrote on the envelope on the box at a certain angle. Oh and I got two vid cards from them refurb 4400's... one worked, one didn't. So its up to you.

When you return a brand new product to NewEgg that was DOA, they don't exchange it with a refurbished on do they?
