In standard weight lifting talk, a "plate" is a 45 pound plate. That is an assumption you can make.

In deadlifting 45lb plates are not.

If you workout in a regular gym, they are. We're not setting world records here so we don't need metal plates.

Brutal, but a true and appropriate response.

alkemyst has been trolling a lot of random threads lately, I would recommend ignoring him.

I have been working out in regular gyms...and deadlifting is one of those places 'geeks' like to talk plates.

It's fucking hilarious the responses to this about, probably by dudes that don't even lift...lolololol

Use fucking pounds or kilos to describe your lifts kids.

Did rack pulls today

5x545, 5x545, 2x545

I was just pooped on the 3rd set. Should help when I try 495 again next week. After that I'll try upping my deadlift volume a bit before going higher. Finished out with some quick leg work, light squats and farmers walk.

Playing volleyball tonight too.

Yates rows, just a little biceps work, a nice farmers walk and lat pull downs. Nothing to hard today, but finished with a nice 14:30 2-mile at the end. My ankles were killing me though, stupid tendinitis.

A light chest/triceps day. I'll probably attempt to deadlift tomorrow unless my volleyball game is later on thursday.

Ugh, I felt super weak tonight. Maybe I'm a tad sick. My nose is totally plugged, and I'm cutting weight.

Anyways, got a decent video at 475. Really slow lift off the ground, and breathing was terrible Next week I'll have to do some deficit lifts using 25 lb plates.

Holy crap, TallBill is tall. Impressive grip, I was expecting to see hook instead of overhand.

Thx. Coach Rippetoe gave me a few pointers to keep my arms near my lats to keep me from falling forward.

Yesterday I did a mashup of biceps/triceps/shoulders. Felt really good. Today 3x5x275 squats and some good mornings, lunges, and calves afterwards.

Impressive lift, last week I got up 365 for my new PR. Although my emphasis is more bodybuilding instead of power lifting. Keep it up

I wouldn't say that was a slow lift at all. Looked rather easy for you actually. No hitching/grinding it out. Nice work man.

Yeah, I just gotta rework my mechanics a little and try to keep the bar in tighter.. Like I said, I got 495 up two weeks ago, so I do have more in me.

Good lift... any reason why you're using the sumo stance rather than the typical DL stance (arms outside legs)?
Recently I've been trying to work-in the sumo DL into my routine (I've hit a wall on my DL using the current stance) and arms on inside feels off.

The mechanics of a regular deadlift just dont work well for me.

Did some back work tonight, db rows, wide cable rows, farmer's walk, lat pull down hammer grip, and a few sets of bicep work. My arms, pumped, are just about 17 inches now.

I did deficit deadlifts with 25 pound plates today. It was about 3" extra distance to pull and crazy difficult. Hopefully it'll help with my explosiveness off the ground.

5x145, 5x245, 5x345, 1x395. I was poopered at the end. Finished with a few quick sets of pullups and then 30 minutes on the stair climber.

Rewarding myself with burgers topped with mushrooms, onions, swiss, bacon and fried egg.

Played a few hours of volleyball yesterday. Pretty much taking this week off from lifting though. Will resume tuesday.

Gah, I need to stop cutting, my strength is so low right now.

Did some more sumos today:
5x225
5x315
4x405
8x315

And tried one set of regular deads, still extremely akward:
5x225

Finished with 2 sets of 8 pullups. I guess I can stop babying my tattoo now.

Do you have any pictures of your tattoo? How long ago did you get it? Has it finished peeling/shedding yet? Once the skin isn't tender anymore, you should be fine to do whatever you want.
