i can make data cds that come directly from my hard drive, but when it comes to copying cds , i am unable.
problems:
#1)
I use adaptec ez cd creator, and it freezes when it tries to "test digital audio" from the cd rom drive.
#2)
if i use other cds, it sometimes skips that part, and goes directly to the cd copy process, but at about 97 % the program stops and says "error reported by output device" ,
"The CD-Recorder wasn't able to write to the CD, because a previous write operation was not completed"
here is what i have already tried:
#1)Digital audio cable is connected from my Master drive (Lg brand CD R) to the port on my motherboard( i have onboard audio)
#2) Digital audio cable is connected from my Slave drive(standard 48x cd drom) to the second port on my motherboard)
#3) tried to use this cd burning software program called HOTBURN, and it didnt even detect that i had a CDrw at all.
#4)i tried using diferent brand CD-R drives, and diferent brand blank CD's... still the same problem
im using windows 98 second edition, and have a duron 600 mhz processor,
the only other thing i could think of is to play around with the settings/checkmarks in my cd rom drive properties inside of the device manager. what should i have them set to?
please any suggestions are so appreciated
