Question about buying "wholesale" ATI video cards

Only problem with ATI is those darn Canadian holidays... They have a few that don't quite match up...... That always seems to be the day I call

Im pretty much in the same position as you. I was looking for a deal online for the 9700 pro and found a couple places selling for about $260, but they all had less than steller reseller ratings and complaints of selling lower version cards OC'd to 9700pro speeds. If I cant find a decent and legit deal online soon, Im just going to get one from either circuit city or best buy.

Also the manufacturer's site....like belkin I bought a usb to serial recently (new open box) for the same price I could have gotten a factory refurb directly.

New was $29.95 and they had it refurbed at $8.99.

Pricewatch is where I found the 9700Pro for around $260. But after checking their seller ratings, I found it not worth the risk.

I pretty much know the sites that I'll deal with at this point. I do check resellerratings and Newegg is the only site that popped up selling the retail 9500 Pro that I'd trust. Some of these smaller places with not so hot reseller ratings aren't worth the risk IMO. I'd rather spend $20 more and avoid the potential hassles.

You have to watch out for the Pricewatch.com scam artists. Most of the companies they list with the lowest prices are a bunch of crooks and liars. It's not a bad idea to check them out to see rock bottom prices but some of the main staple and trusted web dealers.

Always check ressellers at ressellerratings.com
Although even a bad rated site can give you a good purchase... don't be surprised if your burned.
