It's bullshit.

It's called alternative medicine because it isn't fucking medicine.

Except that some of it is supported by research. We've rehashed this time and again in ATOT. For back pain, quite often, chiro care is just as good as PT or traditional medicine. And, iirc, some of the research spelled out that among those with equal results after 3 months, those receiving chiro care were the most satisfied during those three months.

After years of headaches starting in my neck area, I finally broke down & went to a recommended chiropractor. The headaches went away; required visits for a month or so. A couple years later, chronic headaches; he said just the one visit was going to do it. During one of those visits, he said, "hey, looks like you must be having numbness and tingling in your fingers." I hadn't thought anything of it - just considered that darn it, I've got carpal tunnel syndrome, and like my wife, I'll be having surgery in a few years for it. I think it was the C5 or something that he said something or other about. A crack or two, and that tingling went away. I was just thinking about it today - that numbness/tingling is back in my right hand after driving for a while. I just got done with hay season = lots of back breaking work; I must have done something. So, hopefully a visit will take care of it.

3 months is a long time, dude. The only reason people might be satisfied from chiropractic care more is because there might be more customer service/lovely-dovey-how-are-you-doing-care.

Yeah-ok. Your anecdote is better than science.

Bite me, T-boy. I went to scholar.google.com, and used the single search term "chiropractic." Here are the first 3 results.
Science:
http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM199810083391502
http://www.bmj.com/content/311/7001/349.abstract
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1663160/

At three years the results confirm the findings of an earlier report that when chiropractic or hospital therapists treat patients with low back pain as they would in day to day practice those treated by chiropractic derive more benefit and long term satisfaction than those treated by hospitals.

CONCLUSIONS--For patients with low back pain in whom manipulation is not contraindicated chiropractic almost certainly confers worthwhile, long term benefit in comparison with hospital outpatient management. The benefit is seen mainly in those with chronic or severe pain. Introducing chiropractic into NHS practice should be considered.

You see, the way science works, is that you have studies and look at the results. Apparently, you think that the way science works is that you state your opinion and simply claim your opinion is backed by science.

Ok i will get a second opinion from an ortho or another chiro before signing up for any treatment from the chiro

Its been 10 days since the incident and now my back is feeling much better. Still some tightness when doing certain movement or exercises but it should subside

Yesterday i went for bikram yoga and felt good. I think exercising and yoga will do better for my back in the mean time

Sure, there is no science behind spinal alignment and the effects of pinched nerves

Back Crackers can do some wonderful things for people. If it works, stick with it. Frankly, there is a billion dollar pain industry out there and for a vast majority of chronic pain issues medical management with prescription drugs are both ineffective and costly (not to mention, dangerous). I would much rather people spend their money getting adjusted then getting hooked on percocets.
