question about concerts? what doesn "lawn" mean?

im going to a concert and i have "lawn" seating... what does this mean? i know that there are no seats and that i will be sitting on grass... but what am i allowed to bring? i've heard that it's like a picnic and that i can bring anything and everything..

has anyone been to one of these? it's actually a 9 hour concert so i want to be prepared. thanks!

Usually the lawn will still have the same rules as the rest of the venue. No bottles etc. Probably depends on the venue. Where's it at?

Generally, you can bring blankets/towels and chairs. I haven't seen any venues which allow you to bring food/coolers.

The couple venues i've been to with lawn seating allow an unopened gallon or less of water, blankets and that's about it.

Some won't even allow you to bring chairs in. I know Nissan Pavilion in VA doesn't allow this.

Depends on venue and show. At The Mann in Philly, it's "normal" for rock concerts (you can't bring anything except a blanket) but for the orchestra shows you can bring low chairs, and even wine and snacks.

if it is this is what you can bring: Blankets, binoculars, jackets, purses, and sunscreen.
If an item is not listed above, you cannot bring it into the venue, leave it in your car.

regarding chairs - some places won't let you bring them because they rent them and are lookin for the extra couple bucks...

basically you can bring blankets, some unopened water, and that's it. they'll throw away any food you bring (unless you hide it well), and no chairs or cooler or anything like that.

At the Hollywood Bowl you can bring in food and basically picnic during the concert.

That basically means there is probably a huge field and or grassy area for you to just sit in. It's kinda like first come first serve.

Which venue? Look up seating charts at ticketmaster.

Verizon amphitheater = far back, grassy area. Prepare to be encased in a cloud of wacky tobacco smoke.

Lots of venues only have "gen. adm" or lawn seating meaning get there early for good seats.

At the Buffett concert I went to in Atlanta back in college they allowed us to bring in just about anything we wanted to the grass pass section. It was quite the party in the grass section after an already full day of pre-concert tailgating with other Parrotheads. :beer: You can rarely get anything other than a blanket into most amphitheaters these days from what I've heard. Some won't even allow foldable chairs according to one of my friends.

i am going to the inland invasion concert!! once in a lifetime event imo.... its at the hyundai stadium ... in ontario or pomona CA....

that thing is 9 hours!!! but i think well worth it.. i was lucky enough to get tix online when they went on sale...


i will check the main site to see what the restrictions are...

has anyone been to that stadium? i think it just recently changed its name to hyundai.... dunno what it was called before..

no food! i guess i will have to fork over a limb to eat a decent meal there... oh well.. well worth it to see some of the band perform...
