Question about CPU ocing?

ok here my question i been trying to read up alot on ocing my question i have i know when you oc it makes the chip run hotter, which in turn they say it kills the life of the chip now the question i have is if someone oc there CPU and puts it under water to keep the temps reallly down does it still kill the life of the CPU becuase there ocing?

No need to go water-cooling if you are not trying to break records or do aggressive OCing. With air-cooling, you can OC your x6800 up to 3.4GHz safely at stock voltages. Also, Conroes can go up to 60C temp so unless you are pushing close, you should be ok - you won't even get close at 3.4GHz unless your fan is sh*te.

well thats the thing i need to go to water becuase i have a Ultra 120 and reseated my HSF many times and when i had my oc at 3.3 my temps were running at about 66C which is way to high.when iat stock its at about 37 idle and 52 on load at stock And thats another problem i'm having is that i can't seem to get any good ocing done. and can't quite pinpoint why i can't? i have try many different things like... even if i do 300FSB at 11 muiltplier and i set everything at stock my PC boots up just fine and seems to run fine but when i run the stress test on it it goes for about 1 hours and than just stops (the test that is) but my PC still seems to be working fine beisdes the high temps i'm getting like in the 60's
