Question about dual input LCDs

If you have an LCD with both an analog and digital connector, can you hook two computers up to it and switch between them in a matter similar to a KVM (without the K or the M)?

Edit: The reason I ask is that someone else had a thread going about the Planar PX191 and I decided to read up on the specs. One of the menu options is to switch between the two input connectors, so I was wondering if anyone has ever used this feature to connect two computers to the monitor (or any monitor with dual inputs). I don't know if this will work or if it is intended to be used this way. Just wondering.

i believe you can do it. i have a 2000fp dell and it has s-video, analog, and digital...with a press of a button, i can switch between any of the 3.

Yes you can... you can connect computer A to your LCD monitor via the DVI input and connect computer B to your LCD monitor via VGA input then switch from input A to input B using the button on your LCD. (I have done it, several times, with the Sony LCD monitors at least).

Yes you can as others have said. If both computers are on you would need to change from one to the other via the controls on the LCD. Therefore make sure that the controls are easy to use and quick to operate before you buy.

My Planar LCD allows it. I have my Powermac G4 on the VGA input and my Windows PC on the DVI input. I can switch inputs with the press of a button.

I don't have an LCD but my Sony G420s has dual inputs also. All i have to do is slide the switch on the front of my monitor to switch Inputs very easy.

I'm on a NEC MultiSync 1850E LCD at work with dual video inputs. I used it to try it out, but I run through a KVM now (because 1 monitor and 2 mouses/keyboards doesn't help).
