Question about FireWire

Hi,

I'm looking for quite a specific PCMCIA card here for my notebook, I want to achieve USB2 and FireWire on the same card, I have a couple of options

1) A card with ONE USB2 port and ONE FireWire port (available?) I dont want to get one of those that offer 2 USB2 ports and 2 FireWire ports (they are too expensive...like $30 more then a normal single Firewire or USB2 card)

2) A FireWire card with 2 ports, one I want to use itself for a FireWire device I have, and for the other - is it possible to get a FireWire to USB2 convertor? (I know there would be small speed changes). That way if I had a USB2 port I could attach a HUB to it therefore many USB2 slots (I only need FireWire for one peice of hardware)

Either way, I dont want to end up paying more then $25 total for a USB2 and FireWire port (single USB2/Firewire cards cost around 15-20 USD)

My last question - Is there any FireWire to FireWire data transfer cable around? I know there are USB data transfer ones, but I couldnt find any for FireWire, do they exist?

Buy a card with 2 firewire ports and 1 usb port. Firewire cable usually comes with the retail package. No need to buy another. Check newegg and dealsonic.

Try ebay...I picked up a great USB 2.0 PCMCIA card for my old thinkpad laptop ealier this year for about $10 or $15, nib. It has two USB 2.0 ports, and I used my USB hub when I was at home for plugging in more stuff (which was great because that thinkpad only had one USB 1.1 port, which I managed to break lol). I didn't get firewire because I didn't need it, but they are available.

Just go to ebay and search for "pcmcia firewire usb" and you should get a nice list. Buy It Now prices are about $35-40, but if you want to wait and bid you can probably get it for less than $20.

Could you point me to a link on newegg? I've been searching for ages on newegg and I couldnt find a combo card except one with 2 USB ports and 2 Firewire ports (about $50 average).

Kaido, I rather not buy off ebay (I live overseas and and i've never bought from ebay before). Im also doing all my shopping at newegg, so newegg links are preferred
