Hi,
I'm about to buy FK320ATX from directron.com,
but I'm confused with the option either to
choose I/O shield with audio or the one
without audio.
Can anyone tell me the difference between
the two ?
I know that my board, the Epox 7kxa, has built-in audio on the board and audio connectors on the back. These 4 connections are located at the bottom end of the I/O shield. If your motherboard has these, then yes you need the shield with audio.
You only need it if your motherboard incorporates onboard audio, like an Intel 810, I think.
If you use a separate sound card you sholud not need it, although if you have the connectors on the mobo it may get in the way of a blanked metal plate
you almost always get the audio shield automatically with the case nowdays. It is probably not necessary to pay extra for one. When you purchase the case, ask the seller if he maintains a supply of sheilds incase you need one when you open the box. Its a pretty nice case.I have used other models.I wonder how that cpu air duct works.
I'm also considering purchasing the FK-320 from directron.com. How can I get that discount on shipping since shipping is 1/5 the price of the actual case.
