Question about HSF clip

I'll probably sound bad for asking this, but here goes. I recently got my Vantec FCE-62540D in the mail and while I was checking it out I noticed the clip was kind of crooked. Well I didn't think that was right so I tried to straighten it out and the whole thing came loose, I mean it's still in the HS but it wobbles around(it didn't before I tried to straighten it). Just wondering if this is a bad thing?

As long as it maintains tight contact to the core...I wouldn't worry.

Apple, I know what you are talking about, and I assure you, that is perfectly normal. I thought the same thing when I started messing around with my Taisol clip. The clip itself is not perfectly symmetrical, and it needs to be loose in order for you to correctly install it. When you install it,

1. Hook one side of the clip around the socket (while not touching the HSF to the core of the chip)
2. Carefully lay the HSF flat on top of the die.
3. Use a screwdriver to secure the other end of the clip onto the socket.

You'll need to squarely lay the HSF on the CPU die first, then while holding it in place, clip the non-hinged side on first, then the hinged side. Otherwise the HSF will be cocked on the CPU die.
