I have a cable modem, and when I connect it directly to the computer, I get download/upload speeds in the range of 6000/1000. However, when I connect the computer through the router, to the modem, the speed dips considerably. What can I do to rectify this?
Also, why is it that the speeds given by bandwidth meters are always much much MUCH higher than the actual download speed? For example, downloads through bit-torrent (I have ports forwarded correctly), is only ~400kbps. Thanks.
