Question about mixing memory. Samsung + Nanya?

Am I going to have problems?
I have Asus A7V266E with 1 stick of 512Mb Kingston Value RAM PC2100 with Samsung chips.
I just ordered from newegg.com another identical stick(512Mb Kingston), but order says that it has Nanya chips.
Is it OK to have different chips(Samsung / Nanaya) on the same brand memory sticks?
Should I cancel?

Samsung and Nanya are two of the 'BIG FOUR' chipset manufacturer, Micron is one of the others. There are only a couple other TRUE
chipset manufacturers out there. What you are seeing here is a fabrication shop installing RAM chipsets onto a PC Board platform, and
selling the finished product as an assembly. Nanya makes a pretty good chipset, Samsung and Micron both make excellent chipsets.

As long as you run at or below the specified speed (PC2100/DDR266), they should work OK.

Although I have only used NANYA SDRAMs, my experience with them has been just OK but not great. Therefore, I usually stay away from them. However, it looks that NANYA DDRs are performing well according to CaptnKirk's link.

Also, I usually try to use memory with the same brand chip as much as possible. It is often better using multiple sticks of the same so-so brand chip, than mixing sticks with different chips, even if they are all from excellent brands. I think that it would be more true for DDR than SDRAM.

Regardless, again, if you are going to run them at the normal speed, they should be OK.

I'm running a mix of Samsung PC2700 / 512MB and Crucial PC2700 / 256MB. My performance actualy dropped when I changed from Crucial PC2100 to the Samsung PC2700.
When I added the Crucial PC2700, my performance returned to where it had been with only Crucial. I plan to add another stick of PC2700 Crucial in 2 or 3 weeks - after I see
how this mix works, and keep migrating the Samsung to the next bank until I have all 4 banks of memory populated.

No one can tell me if the 4th bank will run with non-parity, un-buffered, non-ECC installed, but I'm confident it can - but that the ECC will not be supported, but that's not the issue.

My admittedly limited experience with Nanya is otherwise great. I have 2 sticks of Kingston PC2100 ValueRAM with Nanya chips, and they're running perfectly fine at the most aggressive memory settings(including CL2, even though they're only rated at CL2.5) available on my ECS K7S5A running my Thunderbird 1.4GHz at 1.5GHz(143MHz FSB), and they're up 24/7 too.
